Description:

It's easy to use a plain background for an ATC....but let's make something awesome to use! We are making an 8.5 x 11 inch masterboard for ATC's. This will make 10 ATC backgrounds. You'll keep 5 and send 5 to your partner. You can use these backgrounds to make your ATC's for swapping....Makes for an interesting background to add embellishments, etc.

For this swap you will need to watch the video and follow the instructions....

After you have made your 8.5 x 11 inch masterboard you will need to cut it into 10 individual ATC cards. You will be amazed how awesome the 10 cards will look!

You will need:
- 8.5 x 11 inch cardstock
- Lots of scrap paper!
- Gel medium or quality glue
- Stamps and stamp pads

Remember to LAYER LAYER LAYER your scraps on the masterboard like she shows in the video...

This looks to be a fun way to use up our scraps!

Enjoy!

Couple of things. First, this says it's an electronic swap. Second, do we make 5 ATCs for our partner out of the masterboard or just send them the backs to use themselves?

barbieloufromKY 02/ 4/2017 #
  • @drgngirl - the swap type has been revised....thanks for bringing that to my attention! You only send the backs - do not make into ATC's..... :-)

Thank you for the answers @barbieloufromKY ! Another question. Do I need to make the board exactly like the video? I've been looking around youtube at tutorials on how to make them.

barbieloufromKY 02/ 6/2017 #
  • @drgngirl - No you don't have to make exactly like the video....it just gives a general idea on how to create a masterboard - have fun!**

This was so fun to do, can't wait to send mine out. Hope it's okay that I made mine on a cereal box so that they are sturdy!

I don't know why, but this whole concept is freaking me out! I'm going to give it a go, though! Wish me luck! Lol

OK I made one last night and the paper is all wavy from all the gel medium, ink, and embossing. Any tips? What type of paper should I use? I used heavy white cardstock but whenever I use ink spray or a wet medium my paper ends up all curled and wavy. Ugh. I'm going to try watercolor paper unless anyone has any ideas on how to straighten out curled up paper.

@drgngirl - don't freak out!! Have fun with it! @shinyserra - the masterboard will not be completely smooth, remember you are working in layers! I have placed heavy books on top of the masterboard to help smooth it down.... good luck!

shinyserra 02/16/2017 #

OK good. I will try heavy books. That should help. Thanks! I am also going to make some more of these tonight. It was a fun idea!
