Description: | |
Have you ever been reading the newspaper when suddenly an article seems to leap off the page and makes you think, "Amazing! I need to write a story about this!" But then when you find the time to write it, article has been misplaced or thrown into the recycle bin. You need a journal to keep those inspiring story ideas in! For those of us who have participated in Round One, put your screen name on the first available blank page. Then, one article per page, tape your five news articles on the next five pages. When partners are assigned, send the journal on it way. If this is the first time you're participating in this swap: Get a composition notebook, the kind without wire holding the pages together. On the first page, put your full name and address, plus your screen name and the name of this swap. On pages two through six, attach five newspaper or magazine articles that you find inspiring. It's fine if you print out articles you've found on the internet. They should be written in English. Please put one article per page, even if an article is short. You can use narrow double-sided tape, or plain scotch tape. When your partner is assigned, send her your journal. You'll receive a journal from someone else. In the new journal, put your screen name on the first blank page. Then tape five articles on the next five pages, just as you did when you created your own journal. Put the journal in a safe place until partners are assigned for the next round. When we get past the last round, I'll arrange a "non-swap" so we can each get our own journal back. Each of the original participants will then have a journal with 25 articles in it. If you become ill or have an emergency and cannot continue, please let me know either by sending me a pm, or emailing me at [email protected]. I'll mail you a postage paid envelope with the correct name and address on it so you can return the journal to its rightful owner. Subsequent rounds will not begin until all journals have been received and rated. |
