Description:

Let’s do a scavenger hunt!

I’ll give you a list and you’ll choose 5 items to send to your partner. Here we go:

  • Something from your country
  • Something that represents you
  • Something to drink
  • Something to read
  • Something round
  • Something shiny
  • Something from your last shopping trip
  • Something for the snail mail / airmail lovers
  • Something to write on
  • Something funny
  • Something colorful
  • Something with animals
  • Something in your favorite color
  • Something handmade
  • Something party themed
  • Something recycled/upcycled
  • Something new
  • Something fancy looking
  • Something from your stash
  • Something you can find in nature

You can wrap each item and add a tag/note explaining what they are. Example: Wrap a teabag and add a tag that says "something to drink". You can skip the wrapping and simply add a note/tag or a post it, just make sure all your items are marked (and look pretty) so it's easy for your partner to know what you've chosen from the list.

Don’t forget to add a note (a card or postcard work fine too) with your username and swap name so your partner can rate you. Remember you can interpret these prompts in any way you'd like, so if you need to add any explanations in your note, feel free to do so. The idea is for all of us to have fun and get creative.

This is sender’s choice, but please look at your partner’s profile to avoid any strong dislikes or allergies. You can decorate your envelope if you want, this is optional. To keep postage costs low, I’m marking this as a type 2 swap, so try to come up with things you can mail with one or two postage stamps and will make your partner happy.

Recap: 5 flat items (labeled and/or wrapped) from the scavenger’s hunt list.

Please rate your partner promptly and if there's any issues, get in touch with me and /or your partner so we can fix it :) And if you have any doubts please don’t hesitate to contact me or add a comment below.

Happy swapping everyone!

Just a thought, wouldn't this be more of a type 3 swap as, depending on the items picked, it could be more of a package than flat mail...I'm still gonna join but thought I'd put that out there v

Hey! I was contacted by another swapper asking the same question. That's why I mention it's 5 flat items and added that this swap should be mailed with simple postage. Of course there's a chance to send a package with all these prompts, but in this case, I expect swappers to find 5 flat items. So if someone decides to send something bigger, they shouldn't feel disappointed if they receive simple items like postcards, teabags, washi samples, etc...

If it goes well I could host a type 3 swap, but for now, I'm going with type 2 as it's something simple (and not that hard to find, I've come up with tons of ideas, so I'm sure others will too).

Thanks for the comment anyway :)

I'm prepping my package & had another question. If an item fits more than one category, can we put that on the tag? I'd still ensure there was a minimum of 5 items, but it may be that they cover 8 categories, for example.

Sorry for the late reply! Yes, it works as long as you're still choosing and sending at least 5 categories, so I'm sure it's fine if you mix some of those :)
