Description:

This is a simple electronic swap. One partner. Take a look at your partner's profile to get a sense of what their year has been like. You could look at their swaps, the groups they are in as well as what they say about themselves.

Find a quiet place, perhaps light a candle or otherwise settle into a state of peace and stillness.

Shuffle your favorite deck, cut the cards three times to the left. Place a card in each of these positions and take notes to remind you of what you sense.

  1. What did you learn in 2017?

  2. What was the biggest challenge?

  3. What came easy?

  4. Is anything unfinished?

  5. What dreams are you bringing into 2018?

If you draw a COURT CARD, consider that it might be a person in your partner's life. Kings & Queens are often seen as someone older. Princes, Knights, Princesses or Pages are people the same age or younger. And don't be tricked by gender. Its more about a certain energy or archetype. For instance, a King could be a boss who is either male or female. And Knights are warriors. Show me WonderWoman as that archetype. See what I mean?

If you draw SWORDS, consider that these cards address how we think, plan, worry, learn, and speak.

If you draw WANDS, consider that these cards often tell us about our energy and will to action.

If you draw CUPS, consider that they effect our emotions, our laughter and tears as well as relationships.

If you draw PENTACLES, they may tell us about our health, our body, our sense of place on the Earth.

The MAJORS are life phases when you lay them out in a row. What comes before a card or after it is just as important as the card itself.

I've given a lot of info here, and mean to say that this is easy. Honestly. Give it a try.

Even if you are a student of Tarot or new to reading, you can get a sense of the story in the card. Simply tell the story. You will be correct and the reading will be spot-on. One trick is to embody the person on the card by standing or sitting like they do...are there flowers on the card...birds who take flight in a particular way...can you see mountains in the distance...or a body of water. What feels good and what feels like caution? Again, here are the 5 cards and what we want to know:

  1. What did you learn in 2017?

  2. What was the biggest challenge?

  3. What came easy?

  4. Is anything unfinished?

  5. What dreams are you bringing into 2018?
