Description:

This swap is for one to three deco books for one partner.

Some guidelines:
* Decos can be new or established
* Up to one homer is allowed.
* Please send no more than three decos unless you've checked with your partner prior to sending.
* The person the deco is for (who it will return to) should be clearly noted somewhere on the deco.
* Don't send your partner a deco they've already had, or one for them.
* You can't always control the quality of decos you receive to pass on, but if you are starting a new one please make it reasonably sturdy and nice, with pages that can be decorated easily.
* Theme is sender's choice.
* Decos should be in book form, not loose pages for example.

I will drop anyone with late swaps or poor history (doubt I'll need to in this group!) and will angel if needed.

According to the Swap-Bot Glossary: A deco is similar to a friendship book and there are a wide variety of types. It is a bound book of pages which are sent around the world. The person that the book is “for” is usually listed on the cover and when the book becomes full it is sent back to them. Each person that receives and signs the deco will decorate one page according to the theme of the booklet (if there is one) and put their postal/email address and sign their name. Typically, each entrant in the “deco” must use one full page to express themselves. Glitter, sequins, feathers and other scrapbooking supplies are frequently used in “decos.” Despite the artistic expressions used in these types of friendship books, the basic rules of passing the friendship book to person to person is the same.

If you are new to decos, I can try and explain them better. I suggest PMing or commenting on my profile to get my attention faster, I forget to check swap page comments as often as I should!

Ok so dumb question, what size should these be?

Marryth 02/20/2018 #

They seem to vary in size a lot, but the average size seems to be "fits in an envelope", haha. ;) I generally make mine 3.5 x 5, but I've seen them smaller (and way larger). The problem with bigger books is that they're more of a pain to mail, so they might not move as quickly.

100% agree with @Marryth - anywhere from ATC sized to like half a sheet of printer sized. I don't recommend going any bigger than a normal postcard or making it extra thick since that definitely makes it harder to mail and slower.
