I am getting tired of the same-old-same-old potato salad, coleslaw, and baked beans; I need some fresh ideas for things to make for outdoor summer eating. How about you!?
For this swap, you will have 3 partners, to whom you will send one tried-and-true recipe for a dish that is particularly appropriate for a cook-out or picnic. "Tried-and-true" means that you have prepared the recipe at least once and that it worked. It can be any kind of dish: main, salad, dessert, drink, etc.
Your recipe does not necessarily have to be something that is always or only served outdoors, but it should be a dish that is easy to handle in such a situation (casual, practical to transport, easy to make ahead, liked by most people, etc.)
Send your recipe by snail mail in whatever format you prefer (sender's choice)—on a recipe card, a computer print-out, handwritten on notebook paper, photocopied from a book or magazine, etc. Make sure that it is legible and that instructions are complete. Include the source (author) if you know it. Please make sure your swap name is on the recipe itself, in case the person who receives it has questions or comments about it in the weeks or months ahead.
If you send more than one recipe (which is optional, if you have more to share), they do not all have to be tried-and-true, but please do make clear which recipe(s) is/are the tried-and-true one.
What if you don't don't have any such recipe except the same-old potato salad? Well, there is still time; search for one, make it, and voilá! Provided the recipe works, you suddenly have something to send for this swap.
I am not setting a rating limit for this swap, but I do reserve the right to ban anyone for any reason. I will angel, if necessary.
