Description:

This swap will be International, and you will have 1 partner. I'm posting this early (Aug. 30) to give everyone a chance to think about, consider and maybe start on this journal before the sign up deadline. If you have any questions, please send me a PM!

Last year, when I returned to swap-bot, I did a few journal swaps, and I enjoyed having the deadline for the swap, it kept me focused and I followed through with the project. But I was flaked on! Hopefully, with this group of people, that won't be an issue! :)

For this swap, we will simply keep a journal for 30 days. This can be your personal thoughts and observations (regular journal entry type things) or you can use journal prompts to write about each day. You can add art if you wish, or items from your day, pictures - it's up to you. Each entry needs to be dated, and should be a minimum of a paragraph. (Sticking some stickers to a page or gluing a receipt onto the page isn't enough.)

The journal is fully up to you - you can make one, buy one, it's up to you. Size should be no smaller than 4x6 (or a passport sized traveler's journal insert). Keep in mind, this is an International swap, so you may send outside your country, and postage can be an issue.

Journals may be hand written or typed - either is fine, and it's up to you! Or mix both, add in a bit of art, that's ok. :) If you do type out your entries, though, please do not just send a stack of printed pages - fix them in a folder or bind them into a booklet, something nicer for your partner.

Ideally, you will keep a journal for 30 consecutive days, but if you need to skip a few days, it's ok. The journal should be started no earlier than Aug. 30, and each entry needs to be dated.

Once you have 30 dated entries, you can send it off. :) Whenever possible, I would urge you to use tracking numbers when sending. And, you may want to photograph or copy the pages, in case the journal is lost in the mail. (this has happened to me twice this summer, and I'm still a bit nervous!)

If you have any questions or if I haven't explained something fully, please PM me! I will not respond to questions or comments left below. And I may not see them. (Sad but true)

Sign up by Oct 3rd - gives you plenty of time to think about or start the journal.

Send no later than Nov 9th - gives you just over a month, if you don't start early.

Possible journal prompts:

--(The following questions I found in a book, they were asked to participants of a group on morality. The book is "An Anonymous Girl" by Greer Hendricks, and is due to come out in Jan or Feb of 2019):

Could you tell a lie without feeling guilt?

Describe a time in your life when you cheated

Would you cancel plans with a friend for a better offer?

Would you ever read a spouse’s / significant other’s text messages?

Have you ever deeply hurt someone you care about?

--(These are some I've collected over time):

Write an ode to something you love.

List anything that you need to get out of your head.

What advice would you give your ten-years-younger self?

--Also, THIS SITE includes prompts for a 30 day journal challenge
