Send a Christmas Card or Christmas postcard to your partner. This is senders choice. If you sign up for this swap you may get a religious card.

All cards must be storebought/professionally printed. NO handmade postcards no free or ad cards unless your partner specifically enjoys those kinds of cards (ask BEFORE sending).

Also, check profiles for special sending preference IE I do not like stickers on my postcards.

No recent/unaddressed 3's or 1's.

I will angel if needed after you contact the person and try to work something out and they have been rated a 1.

Please remember to rate your partner. If you receive any card within swap rules, it is a 5 even if you do not like the card. Give your partner time to send your card (Malaysia often takes 2 months to get to you) AND contact them before rating a 3 or 1 to allow the person to fix any problems that may arise. Hearts are yours to give or not give as you see fit. Treat your partner as you would wish to be treated.

Rate fairly!!! Don't wait 2 weeks and then rate a 1 for out of country partners!!! give the mail time to get to you! This is extremely unfair. Contact your partner and allow them to earn the 5 with a resend. 3's and 1's are true troublesome senders NOT someone who's mail got lost in the system

3's suck. They lower your score, prevent a swapper from joining swaps and in many cases unnecessarily hurt people. If you feel you need to rate a 3 please contact the swapper first.

Say no to these 3's:

The 'You sent 43 minutes after the deadline and did not message me' 3
The 'I am moody' 3,
The 'I'm making up my own rules' 3,
The vindictive 'I got-a-3-you're-getting-a 3',
The ' I don't care what the rules are' 3,

Canada post is backed up due to the strike! Please give Canadian partners a little extra time.

I'm signing up for this just because I like the Swap Coordinator's explanations about the swap! Thank you, nytetears! You made my day!

Glad to have you Porpie5

How long after the deadline do you think would be appropriate for a 3? a year? a month? a week? a day?

itsnobody 11/11/2018 #

Do you mean by "card" a notecard? Do we need to write inside our cards/postcards?

bosotter 11/18/2018 #

hello, I would like to join. And I am excited to participate. I will do my best. Greetigs Aly

nytetears 11/26/2018 #

@itsnobody it is your choice a postcard or a folded card but it must be a Christmas card

@pne this is a personal choice but I give in the country about 4 weeks then I contact them out of the country I tend to give 8 weeks

TC 11/27/2018 #

@nytetears , I think @pne 's question was about sending late and rating a 3. How late of a send justifies a 3 rating?

pne 11/28/2018 #

@TC that’s right — @nytetears I was asking whether I would be justified in rating a 3 if the sender sent 3 months late? 1 month late? 1 week late? How late would it have to be before you would consider a 3 rating appropriate

nytetears 12/ 1/2018 #

@pne oh sorry Again that is personal preference if someone contacts you and says hey I am sick and can't get to the post office. Give them a little time is my thought. I have rated 1's and I have rated 3's but only when obviously deserved. I check the swap is it marked sent? I give them some time then contact them for a resend. if I get the resend then they get a 5. Is it not marked sent? I contact them and ask sometimes they forgot to mark sent.

I guess I am just more laid back in the whole thing. Is getting a postcard or a Christmas card late really worth ruining someone's rating?

Now if they never contact you back or give you the run around then ya they likely need a 1 or 3.

I guess I am just more easy going I am here to enjoy myself and I don't feel getting high blood pressure because a card was postmarked 2 days late is accomplishing that

again it's all personal preference I just like to make people think about it. Don't wait 2 weeks for an out of country card then mark them a 1 without contacting them first to make it right.

I was just sick for 6 weeks so bad I was using my nebulizer 4+ times a day and my rescue inhaler almost every hour or 2 I could not have made it to the mailbox if I wanted to and all I had to do was walk to the street in front of my house. My Father in Law died unexpectedly in August. Things happen in life. (I was not late on swaps btw it's just an example)

I hope that makes sense. I just want people to stop and think. How would I feel if I was rated like that for that reason? is it truly a fair reason?

nytetears 12/ 1/2018 #

@tc thank you I had miss understood the question

Copperluck 12/ 9/2018 #

Sorry, I forgot to say I had sent it yesterday. Please note there is no postal service in acanada on Saturdays and Sundays and we just finished a postal strike here so I hope there is not a back log. Merry Christmas everyone.
