Description:

The start of a new year is a good excuse to design some new artistamps. If you're not familiar, artistamps ("artist stamps") are faux postage stamps made, traded, collected and used by mail artists. A previous artistamp swap I hosted contains a lot of good info and links for newbies: HERE.

I've also got a how-to on my blog for making artistamps using washi tape and rubber stamps: HERE. They're easy and fun to make.

For this swap we will be sending 10 of our own personally designed artistamps to each of our 2 partners. This is open to artistamp makers of all levels and styles. You can rubber stamp, illustrate, paint or digitally design your stamps.

ɴᴏᴛᴇs:

  • 10 artistamps to 2 partners; at least 2 different designs.

  • Perforations or stamp-edge borders are not required.

  • Gummed or sticky backs are not required.

  • Do not punch pretty paper and call it an artistamp. Put your own creative effort into it.

  • Your artistamps need to be roughly 1" - 1.5" in size (typical postage stamp sizes). They can be square, rectangle, triangle, round, free-form.

  • You can send individually cut/punched artistamps, half-sheets, strips...however you create them and want to present them to your partners is up to you.

Send your artistamps to your partners in a decorated or otherwise unplain envelope (handmade from interesting paper, etc).

Swap graphic is one of my artistamps from last year; created as a digital collage using free clipart and one of my hand-painted backgrounds.
