Description:

I hosted this swap last fall and it was quite interesting! Harder than expected, actually.

Every Sunday, new posts are added for the Post Secret web site. When I logged in on the 24th, I saw a very sad note: "For the first time since 2004, I did not receive enough postcards this week to share Sunday Secrets today."
Well, this needs to change! He needs more secrets! Time for a swap!

Please note, there is a new address to send postcards to, noted below.

Also, you MAY send in a secret without participating in the swap! If you sign up or are watching this swap, I highly encourage you to send in your secret earlier rather than later, so you can think about your feelings for the second part of the swap.

Have you ever heard of Post Secret? If not, you can check out the Post Secret Web Page here or the Wikipedia page here

This swap will be International, and you will have 1 partner.

Please note! There are 2 parts to this swap!

First, you will send a secret in to Post Secret. You can make your own post card, use a premade one and just write your secret on it, cut out a chunk of cardboard and write your secret and send it in - doesn't matter how much effort you put into the post card, but you do need to send in a secret. No names, no return addresses, just the secret, stamp and mail it to:

Post Secret 28241 Crown Valley Parkway #F224 Laguna Niguel, CA 92677 USA

More details about how to mail in secrets can be found HERE

Once you mail in your secret, move on to Part Two:

Second: Once partners have been assigned, send your partner a note card or letter explaining how you felt about mailing in your secret. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SHARE YOUR SECRET WITH YOUR PARTNER! If you want to, that is fully and totally up to you. If you want to send a picture of the post card you sent it, you may, but that is fully up to you! The requirement is to tell your swap-bot partner how it made you feel. Some people have commented that sending their secret away made them feel better, less stressed. Others worried that someone would later identify their card and they became worried. On the websites, at times, people felt less alone with their secrets, seeing others experiencing the same issues and emotions. There are many different feelings associated with unburdening yourself of a secret this way. So, that is what you are required to relate to your partner. The letter/note card doesn't have to be very long, but more than a few sentences. Please note! Do not send your swap-bot partner a post card - that doesn't cut it for this swap. You should send your partner a card or letter in an envelope, so you have room to share your feelings.

You will then send the note card/letter to your partner to complete the swap. Be sure to include the name of the swap and your swap-bot ID in the note card or letter! This is how your partner can rate you, so it is important. When you receive your card/letter from your partner, please rate them.

You are not being rated on your secret or the post card you mail in - we won't even know if you really do send it in, of course. Secrets on the website and in the books vary from "I told you that your coffee was regular, but really it was decaf" and "I said I fed the dog, but really I didn't" to "I was the hit and run driver" and more.

Swap Recap

Send a postcard of your choice in to Post Secret at the address above.

Once partners are assigned, send a note card or letter to your swap-bot partner talking about how it felt to send in your secret.

Rate your partner when you receive the note card/letter from them.

Who can join? I'm going to open this up to everyone. Even new, unrated swappers. However, to avoid flakage:

*You must sign in to swap-bot within 2 days of the sign up deadline. (If you can't sign in, but wish to participate, just send me a PM and let me know.) If you don't notify me ahead of time, and don't sign in, you may be banned.

*You need a well filled out profile. This means several sections about you, and a good rule of thumb is that I should need to scroll down a bit to read it all

*If your rating is below 4.98, you need to address those ratings either on your profile, or send me a PM and let me know what happened.

*If you have any 1's or 3's this year, they need to be addressed and dealt with to the best of your ability.

*You need a current, valid mailing address and email on record with swap bot

*If you are going to be late sending your swap please contact your partner and host so we know when you will send!

I'm going to do a manual rating on this swap, but if you have a rating lower than 4.98, it would be better to PM me about it before you sign up. I'm a big believer in communication.

If you have any questions, concerns or comments, Please send me a PM. I often miss comments left on the swap page.

I DO angel all the swaps I host, and I will angel this one as well. If you are flaked on, please send me a PM. Once contact & ratings are given, I will send you a swap.

I generally assign partners the morning following the sign up deadline, usually before noon (EST).

You will have about a week from sign up to send by for this swap. Since it's not profile based, you may get it ready to mail ahead of time, if you wish.
