UPDATED (05-28-19) Also IF YOU WANT, (only if you want or is comfortable with doing so) you can list how you are apart of LGBTQ+ in your profile or the comments so your partner can custom it but only if you want too (that phasing was so weird sorry it's midnight so I can't think of how to word it differently

Hello,

So I am Bisexual and don't have too many LGBTQ+ friends in real life but I have found a strong community online full of support and lovely people, and while I have not been to pride, I feel it every day especially in June, so I thought I could host a swap for all the LGBTQ+ people who also love snail mail.

Pride in this sense is an affirmation of one's self and the community as a whole. The modern "gay pride" movement began after the Stonewall riots of the late 1960s. In June 1970, the first pride parade in the United States

For this swap, you will have one partner

Send them a lovely pride theme letter/envelope (if they are bi you can use the Bi color flag for the theme or are trans you can send them the trans colored envelope) and a profile surprise.

so again

*One partner

*you write them a letter

*and send it in an LGBTQ+ themed envelope (My letter papers is also going to be in theme)

*Profile based surprise

*LGBTQ+ only for this swap, though I have opened a new swap that allowed allies to join as well!

"Just a thought but you saying „if they are bi/trans/etc“ implies that the partner can get ahold of that kind of information. Not everyone states their sexuality/gender in their profile, so how about designing happy mail that represents the flag/sexuality/gender the sender identifies with? That’s also a legit option, isn’t it? :)" ~echeveriaLilacina

Yes, you defiantly can! thank you for asking that so everyone knows, you can also do the generic rainbow, really how you decorate is up to you and how you think you're partner would like

Is this to be a letter we write on the paper, or are we sending a blank letter/envelope set for our partner to use?

SairaLoves2Write 05/26/2019 #

Excellent questions sorry about not making it clear we are going to be writing a letter to our partners :)

I'm so delighted to see representation here on this site. happy pride!

veronicallama 05/27/2019 #

I'm an ally, and would be happy to participate. I'll check back.

mistowls 05/27/2019 #

As someone who is closeted and unfortunately still living in an anti-LGBT environment, I sadly cannot join this because the LGBT themed envelope is too risky :( I hope I’m safe enough to join one of these in the future!

kaicee118 05/27/2019 #

I'd join an ally swap too :)

saturnsrings 05/27/2019 #

echeveriaLilacina, yes you definitely can! Sorry about not listing it as an option but it definitely is!

Thank you for your comment and interest in this swap! :) (gonna quote you to add it in the swap bio :) )

echeveriaLilacina 05/29/2019 #

Don't worry about not listing it in the first place! :) You're very welcome! I can't wait for this!!

cynaemon 05/30/2019 #

Hi, Mistowls, I hope you will join anyway. If you can't use an LGBTQ envelope, just say so in your letter. I am sure no one will down grade you for it.

PeliKat 06/ 1/2019 #

Cynaemon, I think mistowels might prefer if her partner sent to the swap to her in a non-pride envelope as well. Perhaps whoever gets her as a partner could be sure to respect where mistowels is in her journey and send the swap discreetly.

That is a good idea PeliKat.
