Description:

This swap is super easy and fun and because I'm pretty sure you'll have fun doing it, I'm setting the number of partners at 2.

Supplies needed:

  • A pencil with a brand new eraser (at least one; but the more the merrier). [See note below.]
  • A few dye ink pads.
  • White card layers (for stamping on).
  • Colored folded card bases.
  • Small pieces of colored paper to use as a border for your quotes or sayings.
  • Quotes or sayings.
  • Your favorite adhesive.
  • Stamp cleaner (baby wipes or a damp paper towel work well).

[Note: If you don't have pencils on hand, Dollar Stores, thrift stores, and summer garage sales are economical places to find them.]

Instructions:

As you can see in my sample card icon, you will be using the pencil eraser as a stamp. It already has its own handle. Fun! :).

Thus, you will:

  • Stamp the eraser it in the ink and then onto the white layer. If you have more than one pencil, you won't have to clean your stamp as often between ink colors - just use a different pencil for each color. Use as many colors as you want.
  • When you're happy with how your polka dots look, put a coordinating border on your quote or saying and adhere to the polka dot layer.
  • Adhere the polka dot layer onto your folded card base.

Voila, a cool polka-dot card is born. :) Now repeat these steps for partner #2.

Other miscellaneous details:

  • Write a hello note to each partner on the insides of the cards.
  • Add some colorful polka dots to your mailing envelope for instant colorful happy mail! Yay! :)

It really doesn't get any easier than that. I hope you'll come out to play. :)

P.S. Sorry for the long-winded detailed instructions. I get carried away sometimes!
