Description:

The Black Cat was my introduction to Edgar Allan Poe when I was in middle school. It was a gripping tale, filled with lots of crunchy words, gruesome imagery and it did give me the creeps a bit. Ever since I've been a fan of Mr. Poe.

This swap is all about Edgar. We will be gathering THREE things directly relevant to or inspired by Edgar Allan Poe and/or his work.

What To Send

  • At least ONE item needs to be handmade, by you. It can be an ATC, a paper doll, an altered tag, artistamps, etc. Please keep in mind the overall dark & creepy theme of the group when making your item.

  • The other 2 items can be handmade or found/bought. This is an international swap and to keep everybody "even" please send mostly flat, easy to mail items.

  • You might have the instinct to send a page from an Edgar Allan Poe collection - DON'T! You can use pages of his work to make your handmade item or send punches, paper cranes (ravens?), even gelli prints made with the pages, but do not send plain, unaltered pages.

  • Likewise, do not send your 3 items in a plain, unaltered envelope. Make an envelope from interesting/patterned paper or decorate an envelope with inks, rubberstamps, collage, paint.

No Stress Swap

It's up to your creativity what you send for this swap. The secondary items don't have to bear Poe's name or likeness, but they shouldn't be so far fetched that a link can't be reasonably made. For example: he was born in Boston, Massachusetts, so a postcard from the city would be completely acceptable.
