Description:

This will be a quick turn around holiday card swap. This swap is International, but check out the USA only swaps as well.

You will have 2 partners for this swap.

There are a BUNCH of holidays celebrated between Nov 1st and Jan 1st. For this swap, you can send ANY greeting card for the holiday you celebrate during that time. (Since this is an International swap, if you are outside the USA and your partner is in the US, you could get a Happy Thanksgiving card, as the holiday falls at the end of November.) The idea is to get some fun, happy mail and share some good wishes. No drama, no judgement on the card you get. Your partner is sharing their holidays with you. If you only want religious cards, this isn't the swap for you. This is sender's choice!

You will send each partner one holiday greeting card for a holiday that falls between Nov. 1st and Jan 1st. You do not need to send something to your partners wishes, just a greeting card for a holiday that you celebrate.

Card can be store bought or nicely hand made, 4x6 or larger, no postcards, sent in an envelope. If you are hand making the card, it needs to be nicely made, not just sticker slapped. All glue needs to be fully dry before you mail off, and any decoration must be fully fixed to the card so it won't fall off in the mail. Be sure you use enough postage, as some handmade cards can be more than 1 ounce.

Inside the card, write the swap name, your Swap-Bot ID (include International and the number!) and a message to fit the theme of the card. (Don't say Happy Thanksgiving inside a Christmas themed card - stuff like that.)

You do NOT need to include anything extra for your partner. No tuck ins are required. It is fully up to you. You could consider including a message about what you do to celebrate the holiday, but again, not required.

Decorating on the envelope is fully up to you. If you want to decorate, please do, but it is not a requirement.

This swap is open to new swappers, but you profile MUST be well filled out. You need several sections with your likes, dislikes, collections, hobbies, etc. If you profile is not well filled out, you run the risk of being banned from the swap. If you aren't sure what to do, take a look at some profiles - mine included - to get ideas, or check out the "HELP" section at the top right of the page.

This is a quick turn around swap. You need to be ready to send out when partners are assigned. If you have to be late, you MUST communicate with your partners and host to let us know why and when you will be sending. You can still be rated down, but communication is a big deal, and a good habit to follow.

New swappers If you wonder when and how to find your partners - after midnight of the sign up deadline, I log in and click the magic button for swap-bot to assign partners. The system does it all, I don't have any influence to who you are paired up with. Once the system has assigned partners, you should get an email saying the swap partners have been assigned, if you have opted in for that in your profile. If you don't know where to find your partner, check out the HELP tab above - hint, after partners have been assigned, you'll get a clicky option on the right side of the swap description.

I go through all profiles before assigning partners and remove people I feel might be problems, or that have been listed as flakers and problem swappers. But I'm not an internet detective, so I will miss things. If you have personal experience with someone you know to be a problem, please send me a PM with the information and I will take it into consideration. I appreciate input from other swappers, but prefer to do it through PM rather than in the comments below. Thank you. :)

If you have any questions or concerns, please send me a PM as I will probably miss comments left below. If you have a question, I want to be able to answer them well before assigning partners.

Be sure to send on time, and RATE YOUR PARTNER when your card arrives!

I will angel the swap if you are flaked on - please keep in contact with me if you have any issues.

Thanks! And Happy Holiday. :)

Just a note for those of you who are curious -

There is a swapper currently signed up for this swap that has been lifted on some of the flaker type lists, but I am not removing her from this swap because I have swapped with her a few times, and I know the mail to and from her country is very challenging (to be kind), as I have a pen pal in her country for 5 years and counting, and our mail regularly goes wonky. So I'm taking a bet on this swapper.

If you have any other concerns, please contact me via PM directly.

Thanks. :) Cindi

Does it have to be traditional holidays or can it be non- traditional as well ie: Nov 5 is Book Lovers Day, Dec 5 is National Cookie Day

@tampatha - I didn't see this until just now, when assigning partners. For questions like this, it's better to directly PM me, as I stated in the swap description above.

I had more traditional holidays in mind for this swap, but as I didn't directly state that, and handmade cards are allowed, I supposed a card celebrating Book Lovers Day, etc, would be acceptable.
