Description:

Turn a black & white image that you like into a postcard.

For example, an image you found online that you like, or art you've made (drawing, painting, collage, etc.), or a cut-n-paste from a magazine.

Print it on postcard weight cardstock, or glue it to postcard weight cardstock/cardboard.

Black and white for this series is semi-loose. Black and white can be very obvious black and white, or sepia (brown/cream and white). It can have a splash of one colour.

Write a note on the back of the postcard that includes why you chose the image you chose. If it's your own art tell your partner a little about it. Don't forget to write your Swap-Bot name and the name of the swap on the back.

If you are a newbie and would like to swap, message me and I will set up a private swap. It counts towards ratings.

Important administration stuff:

Nudge

I send out nudge 'please rate' messages around the one month mark after everyone has mailed their cards. Please, no serial nudging, it makes my hosting job harder. Rate quickly so it doesn't end up forgotten in a pile of postcards. If I have had to nudge you in more than one of my previous swaps I may 'ban'.

If you haven't received a postcard around the one month mark, let me know.

Blank comments

When rating please comment on the card received. Let's make our partners feel like their postcard matters. So please, no blank comments. Example of what you could write: Thank you for {describe the item}. It brightened my day...Thank you for the Van Gogh sunflower postcard. It brightened my day.

Finished

I check to see that everyone is rated and will add a "Finished" stamp to the Discussion section when all postcards are sent, received and rated.

If you are removed from the participants' list it may likely be for:

  • Failure to rate in my previous swaps,

  • Failure to respond to a nudge message,

  • Nudged for a rating in more than one of my previous swaps,

  • Failure to leave a meaningful comment when rating in any of my previous swaps, especially if the comment was blank.

  • Recent 1s and 3s

Can we send it in an envelope?

9O96O 01/ 5/2020 #

Yes, an envelope is OK.

I prefer to send my postcards naked, so I'll be sending my partner's postcard naked. But it will not be ornate with bits that could get stuck or torn in postal machines. So I understand if your postcard needs the protection of an envelope.
