I've hosted a few handmade bead swaps and this time I'd like to encourage beginners to join in. So if you've always wanted to make handmade beads, this is your chance! Advanced bead makers are very welcome to join in as well but just keep in mind that your partner may be new at this so be understanding. For this swap you will have one partner and you will make 12 beads for him/her. They need to be at least 2 different types of beads so your partner gets a mix. In other words you can't make 12 of the same beads. There can be at most 6 of one type of bead. Some ideas on mediums to use are paper beads, beaded beads, fabric beads, fiber beads, felted beads, knitted beads, polymer clay beads, you can use ribbon, rubber stamps, wire, yarn, etc etc. The sky is the limit but make at least 2 types of beads, 12 beads in total. If you do a search for "handmade beads" or "handmade beads tutorial" you'll come up with all kinds of ideas. Feel free to share even more suggestions here. Beads are lightweight so this is an international swap. All are welcome with full profiles and no recent "no sends" in the past 6 months. Just please do your best and thrill your partners with your creativity! |
