Description:

This will be another EMAIL swap, but as always, please just let me know if you would be interested in a snail mail version as well. :)

Thanksgiving in the USA is celebrated on the last Thursday of November. In Canada Thanksgiving is celebrated the 2nd Monday in October. Any other countries have a Thanksgiving day?

I love Thanksgiving - it's a day to stop and think of what we have and to be thankful for what we have in our life. (Well, to ME it's about thinking about what I have to be grateful for - to most it seems to be the day to start binging on Christmas and shopping! :( - Not in my family!)

This year has been a challenge, am I right? But we all still have plenty to be thankful for. So I'm going to try a series of swaps here for us to recall what we have to be thankful for in life, and in this past year. The first round was BOOKS, and my first instinct was to do snail mail next - but then I thought, "What has the theme connecting us this year? Technology in a lot of cases. So the theme for this round is TECHNOLOGY! - but I hope to do a series for other topics as well, if everyone is on board. :) I'm going to do these as email swaps, so everyone can easily join - mail is still a challenge in some parts of the world, sadly - but I'm always willing to do this as a snail mail swap as well, if anyone is interested.

In an EMAIL to your partner(s), please talk about at least 3 times you have been thankful for technology from this year. Maybe it allowed you to work from home, maybe it helped relax you when you were stressed - streaming movies & TV, music, podcasts .. Maybe it was a way to keep in touch with friends or family that you couldn't see in person. Or did you take a virtual vacation this year? Technology is all around us now days, and I know I don't really stop to think about it much. But most of us walk around with a super computer in our pocket!

You don't have to go in depth, but you can if you'd like. This one might be a bit tricker than the book theme, but technology can include ordering groceries or stamps online to be delivered, attending an event or church service online or a Town Hall meeting with updates for local area via Face Book. Streaming movies, borrowing e-books, looking for recipes online for the leftover food in your cupboard. Or just chatting and emailing, video talks or work or school video conferences.

If anyone has other topics they'd like to see for this series, or if you have any questions/concerns, please Send me a PM and I'll reply just as soon as I can. :)

And I must say, I am grateful for all of you! All of you in this group keep me coming back to swap-bot & this is my happy place. :)
