QnT challenge leaf #4 POPLAR

6-1-21 thru 6-28-21

--one leaf block to one partner

--block should be 6 Β½ by 6 Β½ when mailed (any color background fabric allowed)

--you create the leaf pattern: paint it, piece it, embroider it, or applique it to the block (or any/all of these options)

I would love to collect a series of beautiful, leaf blocks for a project I want for my home. I hope others find this challenge interesting and want to join. I will be making 2 blocks each swap, one for my partner and one for me.

Each swap will be a different leaf based on the picture for that swap. You may make the block look as much like a normal/real leaf as you can, or you may vary the colors and prints, or be very artistic and do impressionists leaves, or stylistic ones.

The most important thing is to use 100% cotton fabric for all blocks, and to do neat work. There will be 10 different leaves in this swap series.

Questions, concerns welcome. Post below or e-mail me. [email protected]

--poplar

--maple leaf

--oak leaf

--fern leaf

--rose

--striped leaf

--poinsettia

You may chose any poplar leaf you want. The picture shown is just to give you an idea.

Also, when we do the rose leaf you may add the rose if you want as long as the leaves are clearly shown. The same applies with any other leaf that might have blossoms as well.

Remember in this series you can be creative and paint the leaf on fabric, embroider it, applique or piece it. Have fun.
