R&W Read Books for What They Are-EMAIL

First posted this as a type 2, but had a request for an EMAIL version. Join one or both - it's up to you. :)

The other day, I read an article titled Please Start Reading Books for What They Are - click that link and you can read the article from Book Riot for yourself.

We often hear 'don't judge a book by it's cover', but what about judging a book my it's reviews? By the publishers comments? By our friends recommendations?

For this swap, read the article I linked above - you shouldn't need a membership. Then think about some books you have been disappointed with recently. Do you think your disappointment was with the book? (the writing, character development, research, etc) or do you think your disappointment may have been with your expectations? (the hype around the book, others recommendations, the publishers comments).

In a short EMAIL to your partner, share your thoughts. You can talk about one specific book, if one comes to mind, or just recent books you've read - it's up to you. Please share your thoughts about the article, too. Do you think you will approach new books differently after reading the article? Have you 'judged a book by it's publicity' so to speak?
