Description:

1 collaborative (deco) booklet for one partner.

Origami booklet style.

Any stage: new, established, or homer/last page. If you are sending a homer and it isn't a Canadian address check with your partner to see if it's OK to send it to them.

New decos:

  • Use an 8.5 X 11 inch piece of paper or smaller, but no smaller than 6" X 9". Fold the sheet to make 8 panels. Pick from 2 kinds of cuts. The usual cut is in the middle of the folded paper, the other continues the cut to the end of the sheet. Here are some photos to demonstrate.

Cut along the red line.

Folded results.

You choose which cut you prefer.

  • A theme or open-theme, sender's choice.

  • Decorate the front and back pages (covers). Include the swap name, your mailing address and email on the back of the cover so your zine can be returned to you when complete. Or just your email and a note to email you for your current mailing address.

  • Do not glue your pages together. We must be able to unfold the deco to write our information on the back of our decorated page.

  • Please include your swap-bot user name on the back of the page your decorate (or on the front if you prefer).

Keep the embellishments slim so participants can use regular lettermail postage.

Another example

A deco is sent around from artist to artist. Each person that receives the deco will decorate one page according to the theme of the booklet (if there is one) and put their contact information and name/username on their entry. Typically, each entrant in the “deco” must use one side of a page to express themselves. A 2-page spread is allowed if the deco creator OKs it.

The goal is to have each space filled out by a different artist, and then sent home to the originator.

If you are assigned the originator as a partner, or your partner has already filled a page, do not send them that collaborative one-sheet booklet, start a new one

When you rate your partner's deco, please describe the deco you've received.

Example:

"Thanks for sending user396's 'Cute Cats' deco."

I will keep a list of the decos received below in the discussion section.
