This swap was originally done by @alexalgebra and I have permission to do this swap from him. Thank you alexalgebra! This sounds so fun!

We are going to make our partners one (1) ATC each. We will have two (2) partners. So, two partners, one ATC to each partner. ATC's are to be 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches, standard ATC size.

The following is taken straight from his swap description.

Have you ever made packing tape transfers? They're one of my favorite ways to make cool ATCs and other artistic projects! I just learned you can even use them to decorate jars, glasses and other household objects as well.

How do I do it? You can use almost any kind of text or image that is on a piece of paper. It can be black and white or color. Regular newsprint doesn't work really, and books work the best, but even something that doesn't "work" the best can still make a cool image you can use to layer over something else and add texture. You can also use images printed on your home printer, generally. Any packing tape works, but heavy duty will work the best. One thing to note is that all white in your image will wipe away during the transfer process and only the ink part will remain.

To make one, simply cut out your image/text as you want it to show up on the finished transfer. Then, place it image side down against the sticky side of the tape. Put your taped image in warm water for a few minutes and the paper should start to peel away. Thicker papers tend to just slough right off in one piece and will even separate on their own, while thinner papers usually require some rubbing to get the pulp off. Rub off all of the paper from the tape - you might need to do the last bits under running water to get it to come off.

Know that part of the charm of these is that they usually have a bit of a distressed look because the process isn't perfect.

Voila! You've now got a really cool handmade sticker!! Prepare to get addicted to these!!

I would definitely say to do some experimenting on different types of paper/images/etc. and see what you like the look of best. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions!

These people don't do it exactly the way I do, but there are some examples here:

MissBrenda's thoughts on this process after giving it a go. Definitely use warm water to soak the image. Give it at least 10 minutes to soak, but be prepared to give it longer to soak if need be. Do not rush the process. The image is cool looking when it is done. However, I did a double image, meaning I used one image, then did another image after that, and it turned out really nice, but the packing tape wasn't sticky enough any longer, only slighly sticky. So I think I will adhere it to the ATC with modge podge or glue, just to make sure it stays there. When you give it a try, let me know what your thoughts are on the process! I'd love to hear!

Contact me with a PM, rather than leaving a message below. I don't check there often enough, but am here on swap-bot every day and will see that I have a message. Thank you.
