Description:

Hello everyone!

Welcome in this Art journal swap.
In this swap we wil make and send a journal. We make art on 1 page and send the journal along the next swap.

I will explain the way we do this.
The swap will come back every third friday of the month, you can join as much as you like, and skip once in a while if you don't have time.
So it's totally fine to skip a month, as long as you join the next one to send the journal a long. (only 1 month skipping is allowed at once)

Starting a new journal
Take a piece of a4 sized paper and cut this in half, now you have 2 a5 sized papers. Fold 1 of these a5's in half, (keep the other half for your next journal or other crafts) these are the pages (4 pages front and back)
Do not use printer paper for this, better use watercolour paper, or mixed media paper. (use at least 180 grams paper for the pages)
For the cover we take one a5 piece of paper and fold it in half. (you could also make a wider one to make a closing flap)
It is up to you to choose how you fix these papers together, you could use staples, or sewing with a machine or by hand (or with a fancy binding machine, make sure the binding does not make things extra bulky)

On page 1 (inside of front cover) we will make 4 boxes corresponding with the 4 pages.
On the last page (inside of back cover) you write your own adres, so it can be send back to you when all pages are finished. You could also write a preference for style or theme for your journal (this is a preference, not a demand, pages are senders choice)

Now the pages: The first page is for yourself. Create some art in any way you like, (draw, paint, collage, digital art, etc) and sign your name and little message in box 1. Make sure your work does not bleed to the next page(s)
Please do not make the journal or pages too bulky or heavy. Try keeping things fairly flat. For some country's a bulky envelop costs way way more than a flat one.

Previously this was a journal with 8 pages total. All the journals that are already made with 8 paged can travel till full. All new journals must be only 4 pages.
I made this change so the journal doesn't take 8 months to come back to you. It's totally fine to send the journal in an open position if this makes postage cheaper. Just make sure it does not bend easily.

Send your journal to your partner in an envelope.

If you recieved a journal in previous swap
If you received a journal, you will add your art on the next empty page and sign in the corresponding box on the first page.
Send the journal to your partner in an envelope.

!!Please be carefull!! DO NOT SEND AN UNFINISHED JOURNAL BACK TO THE ORIGINAL STARTER (the one whose adress is in the journal)
If your swap partner is the same one as the original starter of the journal, just start a new journal of your own, and keep the other one for the next swap. It's ok to have a journal 'in storage' for the next swap. Or you can send a journal that you have in 'storage' from another swapper.

You may use any medium you like, paint, mixed media, drawing, collage, watercolour, etc. Make sure it does not bleed to other pages.

If you are the last one to fil a page in the journal, you send it back to the original starter. The one who's address is on the last page.
For the next swap you start a new journal or send one you have in storage.
Sending home a journal is not part of a swap!

When you decide not to participate in any more rounds, you can wait until you get a 'homer' journal and not start a new swap with a new journal. Or send the journal(s) you have to me, and I will keep them in rotation. DO NOT toss any unfinished journals out!
It's ok to skip a swap, just make sure the journals are send a long some day.

If there are any questions please ask!
English is not my first language so I hope everything is clear!

For this swap you need a rating from at least 4.98 and no unexplained 3. A 1 is only acceptable if your swap partner is not active anymore on swapbot and you have tried everything to make it right.
You can not have any late swaps on your dashboard when assigning partners. If you have a late swap with a good reason, you can message me and I concider to let you join. A message to me is in no way a garantee to being able to join with a late swap.
