Junk journal flipbooks are also known as snail mail flipbooks, junk journal folios, or just Junk Journals. They can be an array of sizes and pages, include envelopes and pockets of junk journal supplies to share and can have any number of "flips" in any direction. Once you get the hang of making a basic flipbook/folio, the ideas are endless and they are so satisfying to make. If you haven't made a Junk Journal Flipbook, it can look very daunting and compicated. This is a swap for those wanting to try it but worried about your skill, or those that like to make them and don't mind swapping with a newbie maker. For this swap, we are making a basic junk journal flipbook in any size or style, and meant for us all to learn together This booklet will have the following requirements: three "flips" minimum at least two pages with any style pocket each pocket will include at least 5 "happy mail" items all pages decorated The following is some example videos which may inspire you or help you focus on where to start. Your books will likely not look as fancy as these and that's ok. That's what this swap is for. This is a really good example of a simple flip book by pinkmonarchprints. This one has three flips. This is a very good example of a flipbook: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEHnMjPgTNg Here is a link to a tutorial for a larger square junk journal flipbook by pinkstrawberryz: This size might be too big for low postage, but a nice example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfHZcved8tI And another style also by pinkstrawberryz: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrcKErj58CU Here is a very beautiful Christmas themed junk journal flipbook by LisaFillippi. This is certainly not the details we are looking for in this swap but very nice for ideas and inspiration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVBbLWA8_So The flipbook I will be sending is aproximately 4x6 and is made with three blank cards glued together to make a basic 2 flips and then I'll add another flip inside the little booklet Any other tips or ideas are welcome in the the comments below! Happy Mail items can include paper strips, images, stickers, washi samples, litrtle strips of riboon, stamped images, or any kind of junk journaling item. Sender's choice. Take care and enjoy the making process |
