Description:

Do you ever just want to make a collage to express that neverending internal scream? Does your scream usually end up making people say, "Oh, that's... interesting"? If so, this is the swap for you!

I have been really into making these notecards lately. I have been calling them sticker collages, but I see the term used interchangeably with "sticker bomb." These are a bit different (but not too different), so I'm just calling them hybrid sticker collages. Mine are all vibrant and colorful or pastel, but that's not required of you at all -- those are just what mine look like.

So what are the requirements?

  • you can make a notecard or a postcard. Please nothing smaller than 4" x 6", and nothing larger than 5" x 7".

  • your card must contain at least ten stickers, one paper element, and one piece of washi tape. Of course, you can use more of any, that's just the minimum.

  • No requirements for sticker size, each alphabet sticker counts as 1. Paper elements could be memo paper, a playing card, magazine cutouts, a hand drawn image, ephemera, etc. See linked album for examples.

  • the card should express something. Ie, you should feel like you're letting something out when you make it. This is honors system -- don't downrate if you think this wasn't met. I think most people get something worthwhile out of crafting.

  • don't worry about not being "weird enough," being "too weird," or about not being an artist (I'm definitely not). If you relate, you can join.

  • consider gluing down your components, even if they're sticky. They love to fall off if you don't add some encouragement, especially in the post. A topcoat of something like mod podge isn't a terrible idea, either.

  • postcards can be sent naked, in a plastic sleeve, or in an envelope. Notecards, of course, should be sent in an envelope. Keep in mind that postcards much larger than the minimum will require a regular first class stamp.

  • include the swap name, your username, and a note to your partner. This is a nonjudgmental zone, so feel free to vent, write a little poem, talk about something you've done recently, a bit about yourself, anything! Just more than saying hello.

  • be advised that you may receive something that contains unsettling imagery or unsavory language. Do not join if you absolutely cannot handle something specific.

  • swap is US only. Please give ample time to arrive. If you will be late, let me AND your partner know. I will angel after communication and a 1 rating. I will also do this swap privately internationally -- it's just super not fun to deal with ratings drama and stuff not arriving if anyone can join.

  • no shady stuff. No recent or unexplained 1's or 3's. Newbies welcome with a filled profile and a message to me. I reserve the right to ban anyone for any reason, including not being active within two days of assigning partners. I do check.

That's all! Remember folks: 10 stickers, 1 paper element, 1 piece of washi. Use as much as you like, but at least that much. Happy swapping!
