Number of swap partners:7
Description:

This is a long term committment to take part in a travelling journal. Each participant starts on 1st August with a new sketchbook. Please aim to get a journal around 8 x 10" up to A4, this will give enough space to make cool pages, but not too huge to post.

The idea is that you work in your own journal first of all, creating a minimum of 4 double page spreads. You will have a month to do this.

We will make our own circle of partners and on 1st September you send your journal to the next person on the list. You will be ignoring the partners assigned by Swap-Bot as we will create a circle and notify you who will send to after the deadline. This means you will always be posting to the same person.

Depending on where you live you should receive the next journal within 2 weeks, giving you a month to work on it before sending it off back into the circle.

This swap is slightly different to the first as you will have only one month with the journal, so the pace will be slightly faster. You will still need to complete a minimum of 4 double page spreads, but can do more if you have time and ideas.

Round Robin #2 will have no maximum amount of participants, giving everyone a chance to sign up before the deadline of July 31st. This also means there is no set end date, however I have put July 31st 2010 onto Swap-Bot as an estimate. This would be the end date if 8 people were in the swap.

Journals will be posted on 1st September, 15th October, 1st December, 15th January, 1st March, 15th April, 1st June, 15th July 2010. Either myself or Ginger will pm you when it is nearing the posting date.

The journal itself has few restrictions as we want you to enjoy this project and to do that you need freedom to create what you want to create. The only tiny criteria we have is that when you receive a journal, you take an element of the previous page into your 1st page. Their page may have circles on, so you could start your page with circles or they may have used a photograph of themselves, so you could put your photograph onto your first page.

You would also need to put something on your first page to show you have taken over the journal, your name, your moo card, or buy making a tab for the edge of the page. It would also be a good idea if you could devote the inside cover of your new journal to the participants, allowing everyone to sign in and date the journal as it travels.

Obviously no-one wants to be left without a journal at the end or for the chain to be broken, so only sign up if this is something you will love to do, want to do and have time to do. This is a minimum one year committment.

Anyone in the group can join. It doesn't matter what your style is. We all create in different ways and that is why this will be such a fun project. So hit the button let's get going! Any questions or suggestions to alter this slightly, please pm. Enjoy!

I am currently doing a round robin journal swap and we have 8 partners (the same as there are in the swap) this means that at the end we can rate all the people who have contributed to our journals, will you be doing something similar?

secretterrabite 07/ 7/2009 #

We will definately figure something out so we can rate each other.

On the first Round Robin, the rating section shows every participant so we will all be able to rate each other at the end.

maybe before assigning partners, you edit the swap to have as many partners as there are participants?

There will be as many as there are participants. The 8 above is just an example. When the circle is created the actual end date will be known. The date above is a guesstimate.

The sign up date has changed as I am about to go on holiday and cannot assign partners until I return on August 4th, so it gives a few extra days to sign up. However the first posting date is still 1st September so start your journals!

Hi! Just a quick question about the proper way to do things. Do I mark my swap as sent yet or do I need to wait until the Round Robin is complete?
Thanks!

I'm thinking we wait until the swap is complete. I suppose you can mark sent if you want. Ratings I think would be for our own journal that gets returned to us in the end, then we rate each other. :-) GT
