Hello! This is my first hosted swap, so please bear with me. if i leave anything out, or word something wrong, or if anyone has helpful ideas to make this swap great, let me know! I love creative criticism. I am going to make this an open swap for newbies with full profiles, and at least two through the mail swaps 4.8 or higher (i will check). and please no one with recent unexplained no-sends. if you meet the requirements, please proceed to the next paragraph :-) Now for the instructions: once you have signed up, comment with your favorite house. the yarn ball you send your partner should be in their house colors, either two solid skeins or variegated. (be sure to let your partner know if you're allergic to any fibers) i am setting the price Max(yes i do mean max) to $20(not including shipping), if you do decide to go over, that's your choice, just please don't get mad if your swap partner doesn't spend more than $20 on you. I am setting a max b/c times are tough and not everyone can afford to spend much more on a package. but trust me, $20 is more than enough for this swap. feel free to raid your stash if you have a goodly amount of the house colors or fun notions, this will leave more money for the goodies. once you have your yarn chosen, pick up 15 or so, little items, like stitch markers, buttons, candies, little handmade items, lip balm...etc. when picking your goodies, think harry potter, like owl shaped buttons, or lemon drops, house color stitch markers, house elf earrings...anything you can think of or make that with wind up easily in the yarn. Winding the ball, I like to start with something round, like a small pin cushion, or a gum ball machine bubble with candies, buttons or some other small goodies inside, then wrap yarn around it until you cant see the item poking through, then wrap the next item or two in, until you have a yarn ball (sometimes a little wonky) with tons of little surprises inside, so that as your partner knits/crochet/other yarn crafts with it, little presents will fall out. or if you are as impatient as i am and re-ball the yarn to see whats inside! now i am hoping i have covered all bases, but if i have forgotten anything, missed something, or need to elaborate on something, PM me or post it as a comment. OH! and almost forgot, i am giving a WHOLE month for preparations on this, so you can make it extra special. I can angel this swap but am also looking for volunteers to also angel, i wont be able to angel more than one. p.s. My favorite house is Ravenclaw, and i have no allergies, and i don't mind acrylic yarn. Oh and if you are a newbie w/o a through the mail swap or only one PM me and we can work something out. |
