I loooove book thongs. And i love making them because they're simple, but can be so pretty and creative, especially when made by a diverse handful of crafters. This swap will give us a good variety of different types, from different creative minds - instead of the same old type you see hanging in the occasional book store.

Pick a charm for the bottom end of your book thong based on each of your partners interests. (People, PLEASE have a thoroughly filled out profile!)I'm giving more time between the sign up & send by deadlines so you can take the time to create something you're happy with, that you know your partners will love! (3 weeks good enough?)

Use coordinating, sturdy natural fiber cord (or another type of cord that isn't too thin, fragile bulky or elastic) as well as coordinating beads/crystals, etc. Please be creative and aim for hearts!!

The materials to make these are very inexpensive, so please don't skimp on effort. Most of us probably have most of the supplies to make these already.

You'll have 3 partners and you will create 2 book thongs for each. You'll be making a total of 6 book thongs. (and receiving 6 as well!)

If you have no clue what a book thong is, please go purchase one so you can get a feel (and a close up feel & view) of how they're made.

For a quick jump start, go to http://images.google.com and use the search terms "book thong". Your results will be ample.

They're very simply put together and a really fun item to have for keeping your place in the book you've been reading.

If you have any no-sends, you may not join.

Just to let you know- while your description mentions 3 swap partners, the swap profile is only set up as 1.

Personally, I think I'd be more likely to join if it was only 1 partner, but that's just me... and who knows, I may end up joining anyway.

I like the idea, but I'm not sure if I can find really specific charms over here. I found a tutorial for making book thongs: http://www.beadstudio.com/info.php?a=383 I prefer 1 or 2 partners too, in stead of 3. I'll wait with signing up until that has been made clear. :)

I love these things!!! I've already been making some....I'm an avid reader and so are many of my family and friends. Yeah......this is the only thong I want to be associated with too! Three partners is fine with me.

I'm a big fat dummy! And I apologize - i breezed right past the drop down for partner numbers when i wrote the description. It's 3 - because these are so simple to make and would weigh virtually nothing to ship. I really wanted to see how creative people could be with them, and i notice when making them myself that limiting it to 1 or 2 doesn't offer much of a chance for that.

On that note - I'm working on getting mine out to my partners after the extremely hectic past 2 weeks of being ill and funeral arranging. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for the delay!
