i am not really interested in this sort of thing, but i live 5 min from salem, mass and there is a cemetery called the burying point from the year 1637 containing the graves of a Mayflower pilgrim and witchcraft trial judge John Hathorne. i am going to salem saturday. i could take a pic and post it somewhere for you. just tell me where.

Sounds great. BTW, I was photographing in a cemetery in Queens, New York this year and was most firmly told by a tough looking employee that such was not allowed! Anyone ever encounter such a thing? Luckily I had already taken many.

I was there this past summer. I didn't visit any cemeteries though.

In 2002, or thereabouts, my daughter and I were heading for Salem from Topsfield and got lost and ended up seeing an old very small cemetery in, I think, Peabody. Is that the town next to Salem? I guess my daughter has the pictures somewhere, but she's in L.A. I'll have to get them from her one day.

I wish I still lived in Ohio for this.. some really nice, super old cemeteries there. The one in our down dates back to the late 1800's though. not too bad. I think I will try to find a mix of new and old headstones to share :)

do they have to be 4x6 or can they be a larger size ? also can i enclose info about the picture?

I would certainly like info on mine. The last cemetary swap, I received photos without any explanation about them at all!

For those who live in places that don't follow inches, the conversion from 4 X 6 is 10.16 cm X 15.24 cm :)

disappointed, just checked my files and seems I've lost my west point cemetary photo, would have love to share them. I have some great cemetaries by me and ton's of pictures. Can't wait to share and receive mine. Unfortunately, West Point does not allow you to just go to the Cemetary anymore, I'll get some during special Olympics in May if this is done again.

To nelliebugsdotcom: and anyone else interested. Yes, you can certainly send more than three. I already sent mine and I sent 5. I did that for the last one as well and that was fine. I did try to keep it so I only had to use one first class stamp.

Weird hobby nothin, I live in a cemetery. No, really, I live in the caretakers cottage at Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago. I suppose it's kind of cheating for me then since all I have to do is wander around in my front yard, but there are so many beautiful headstones that I could send 100 pictures to each of my partners and still not have even tipped the iceberg....

I didn't give any info on the pictures I sent out -- sorry. I will do that next time. :) My partner sent me a cute little booklet it was really nice. Waiting patiently for my second set! Did everyone get some cool pictures?

I had a WONDERFUL time taking these photos! Being in the cemetaries was so peaceful. I felt a reverence just being there. MANY thanks for this swap and I hope we'll have more of these swaps.
