Description:

Now that the deadline for the last pin/brooch swap has passed, it's time to start a new one! I can't get enough of these...and I really love the idea of artist trading pins.

so, if you are as pin happy as I am, here's your chance to keep it going.

The rules are, make one pin or brooch for each of three partners, based on their profile. It's that simple. It can be paper, cloth, wire, clay, felt, bead, whatever your preferred medium, as long as it can be worn comfortably on the body.

NOTE: Given that we are started to amass a stock of pins from these swaps, I would like to open this swap up and make it possible for us to send along a handmade pin that someone else has made but that may not suit us so well. I always understood the trading process to be just that, and I like the idea of our creations moving about until they settle on the right home.
If you are going to send along someone else's work, please do two things:
1. DO NOT alter it in any way, out of respect for the original artist, and
2. CREDIT the original artist (if you can remember who they were! you could jog your memory by looking through your previous swaps and finding those who sent to you). I for one think I am going to start "signing" my pins on the back somehow so that my work can be traced. (not that they are "great" works of art, but they do have a certain style...)

Hopefully the "send-along" option won't be offensive to anyone. Anyhow, it seems like these pin swaps are a happening thing, and I am sure there will be swaps for those who can't abide the idea.

As for who can join, newbies with complete profiles will be allowed in, but please no chronic no-senders. I am not terribly concerned about rating numbers, within reason. Contact me if you have questions. After sign-ups close, I will do the necessary weeding out of questionable swappers. Plus, I will angel this swap in case of flakers.

Any questions? Let's go!

What do you mean by 'artist trading pin' exactly? Can you post some links or some explainations? I'd love to participate, but I'm not sure I know exactly what the expectation(s) are! :)

here is a link to the first swap with this title: http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/3237

Basically this is for people who like to make small pieces of art that can be worn. There isn't a set size like there is with ATCs... me I'm a fiber artist, and I don't do ATCs so this is my opportunity to make similar works. BUT the pins don't have to be fiber! I once got a wonderful pin that was a puzzle piece with plastic letters resined onto it.

Does this help?

This was lots of fun last time, but I'm getting busy this summer, so I'd better not sign up right now. Hope you do this again later!

Yooper Hill, Kelly Parker and Jessica Tropp...your pins are on their way. Hope you like them. I have never done this before so I am not sure what was expected. I hope everyone posts pictures in our group photogallery. I will upload mine in a few minutes. I really had fun making them. This is really stretching me artistically woohoo!

Have a great week all.

Ok...I uploaded the pictures of the pins I sent to my partners. I am new at this so wasnt sure if it would work. I don't know how to make the pictures smaller sorry. Hope everyone uploads their pictures because I would love to see what everyone did and figure how far off I was lol. Have a wonderful day.

Hugs, linda
