Description:

So you like knitting but don't have anybody to send to? This swap would be perfect for you then! I welcome all knitters, newbies and pro's! This is the perfect time to show off your skills! The style/type/ is sender's choice, but make sure it's a good quality scarf, and make sure that you contact your partner to get the length they want.

This swap is open for newbies with a complete profile. How ever I will be checking for flaker's. This swap will be international and I also will put it so you have 1 partner. Im going to have a long enough time period for you to make the scarf. Now the flip side to this swap is you must include a surprise! It needs to be new, and I am putting a $5 limit on the surprise. It can be a couple of your favorite skeins of yarn, or a novel, or what ever you can think of! But make sure its something your partner would like!

OMG I joined the last one way back when and I got flaked on! :( I'd love to join, but w/newbies I'm nervous. I'll watch it though! :) I LOVE knitting!

I am finding that I'm getting flaked on more by established swappers than newbies...

Obstminkerl 12/ 3/2009 #

Same here, GoingTwinsane. In every swap I got flaked it was an establlished swapper :-(

KawaiiNekomini 12/ 3/2009 #

Well I can assure you that I am being careful with whom I let join. And if anybody does get flaked on, I will gladly angel them a package.

I've signed up. I'm a newbie to swapbot but have participated in and hosted plenty of swaps over the years. It's nice to do a knitting one for a change.

I'm going to go ahead and post my preference. I'd like a wide scarf that is fairly long. OR a Snood is a great alternative for me! Basically I like to wrap the scarf partly over my head to keep out the bitter cold. I love the color blue and I often wear autumn colors and earth tones. Soft and cozy is my favorite. I love dark chocolate. I spend ALOT of time at an ice rink year round. I love to knit so I'm pretty excited about this swap.

Sounds a great swap but I can't knit very fast so have fun with it!

I'm sooo excited about this one!!! I'd love a medium width LOOOONG scarf!!! I love how they look with a nice "pea-coat" but I've never had one... and I spend so much time knitting things for other people, that I don't ever get to making one for myself...

black or brown tones would be PERFECT!!!!

cinderella730 12/15/2009 #

sorry, I forgot to add DARK PURPLE to that...
LOL

This sounds like fun. Knitter's choice you say? I can start now and get a decent length. Color will be a surprise or else I'll never get it done in time.

KawaiiNekomini 12/19/2009 #

Would anybody be against the idea of extending the deadline to give us knitters time to make the scarf?

patabear 12/21/2009 #

I'm all in for extending the date

KawaiiNekomini 12/24/2009 #

I extended the send by date to Jan 31st. That should be plenty of time to finish a scarf.

jasminie 12/27/2009 #

i'm a noob. and completely excited about this!

KawaiiNekomini 01/ 1/2010 #

Wow! I wasn't expecting so many sign ups!! Thanks! Make sure to contact your partners to find out how long they want their scarf! Color and style of the scarf is knitter's choice.

I am sending my package later next week sometime! Yay!
