Description:

This swap is for beginning journalers who have wanted to sign up for journal swaps, but were hesitant, as they had never tried it before, AND for experienced journalers who don't mind receiving from a newbie. It is not for picky journal swappers who have guidelines on what kinds of journals they would like to receive- remember, you might send a journal full of your sketches and paintings and receive one full of writing about someones day to day living.

For this journal you will need a journal that is at least 5"x7", with at least 30 pages in it (that's only 15 sheets of paper). You will fill both side of all pages (so if you decide to do fronts only, just make sure you still have 30 completed pages). You can use any type of journal you wish- you may even decide to try your hand at making one yourself- as long as it as least 5"x7".

You will have a little over a month and a half to put together something neat... so don't wait until the last minute. Make an effort to make something nice that your partner will appreciate. The theme is completely open- you can write, create art (paint, draw, etc), collage, make lists, include quotes, lyrics, whatever you want! As long as you end up with 30 completed entries (1 entry= 1 full page). I ask that you not slap a few stickers on a page and call it an entry. Make something NICE! The most appealing journal for a swap of this kind will probably be something with a combination of those things.

The journal is senders choice in all aspects, so you don't need to check your partners profile. This also means you can start NOW if you want.

EDITED: This swap is USA only, however if several people express an interest, I may do an international version later.

You must have at least 15 completed mail swaps and no recent 1's or 3's.
I will check profiles and ban anyone that looks fishy. Please send ON TIME and rate in a timely manner. Also, please rate fairly- based on whether the swap requirements were met, not whether you liked what you received. And please rate in a timely manner... Someone who has spent the time to create an entire journal for you surely does not want to wait weeks and weeks after sending it to see if you received it :) Thank you sooo much :) Please do not sign up if you can't follow through.

If anyone has any questions, please PM me or post them below.

You say 30 pages in several places, but then you say 20 completed entries. I assume that last one is a typo?

I'm participating in another journal swap at the moment, so I'll have to think whether I can do this one, too. Maybe if I duplicate some of the entries, it may work out.

Swan- thanks for catching that, I fixed it... it IS 30 entries. I had typed up this whole swap and then there was a glitch, and I lost it all and had to retype it.

I'd be interested in an international one.

There is a thread in the group about this topic, and I posted a couple of pics (examples).

I would also be interested in an international one later. Great idea, especially that it is a mixed journal. Hope you will do another round.

I am going to keep track of who is interested in doing an international version, so those interested, add a comment. TY :)

Ah hah..I'd try this out I think, especially because it sounds so beginner friendly. I've wanted to sign up for journal swaps before but haven't been sure what people would expect of me. A whole journal can be a daunting task if everyone else is an expert! However I'm Canadian so would qualify as international. Put my name in as interested, please. :)
