I have been MIA for a few weeks - got a new job and school has been keeping me so busy. Just got back from the PO here and still no word of my swaps :(
I went to the main post office earlier today to pick up my parcels (from eBay & Etsy) and I am disheartened because I still have not received any of my swaps. I have received my postcards (they were delivered straight to my building) but the others those in envelopes are still not here :(
***10/06/16 Update:
We've finally located my old account - @glaeken I didn't know it can be recovered after being deleted, it has been 6 years since I went on hiatus and so I created a new account to start anew - but after contacting admin and being told it can be recovered and merged - I went straight ahead.I am finally seeing SO MANY messages - and I am going through them.
Quick history - I joined this community in 2009 and had so much fun. In 2010 things got shaky BUT I SENT OUT MY SWAPS PRIOR TO GOING ON HIATUS. The last time I logged in was on the date I marked my swaps SENT. Never checking messages or whether or not my partners got them.
It was on that year, I quit my job and the home I grew up in was flooded, I lost a lot and safe to say - completely disregarded my swaps. It took 6 years before I am sure that I am now financially, mentally, and emotionally stable to continue.
ON MY 1 Ratings: I have contacted my PARTNERS @kirsti & @thefancyladygourmet who never received my swaps asking for their addresses (in case they have moved) so I could RESEND.
If I owe you a tag / swap / angel promise - please contact and I'd send it out as soon as possible.
I have swapped with so many awesome people before and I hope you are all still here, having fun.
We have a very slow postal service and based from previous swaps - it would take 8 to 10 weeks before my partners would receive my envelopes. Please I implore you to be patient.
I have a friend who works at the Regional Post Office here in Cebu City and she has told me the process our mails go through which is as follows:
There are several post offices scattered throughout the city, the nearest to me is in a school. I mail all of my swaps and happy mails there. From that post office - the mails are forwarded to the Regional Post Office, pick up is daily every morning. Once it reaches the Regional Post Office it is sorted and is sent to the MDC (Mail Distribution Center) where it is encoded before it goes out to its destination.
How long it sits in the MDC is can be a few days to a week - as they are understaffed and undermanned. Mails are marked with dates not on the day they are mailed but on the date they are received at the Regional Post Office. So I implore to please not rate me as late basing on the date you see on my mail. The same process in reverse for all incoming mails.
I will NEVER RATE a 3 or a 1 without communicating with my partner first. I'd like the same consideration too. Thank you.
Hi! Thank you for checking my profile. I hope I don't bore you and you'll continue through the end :)
I'm a 30 yr old female, law student currently in my 3rd year. I work from home as a virtual assistant. I am a planner girl with a penchant for hoarding planner accessories, journals, pretty papers, pins & clips and stamps. To be honest I was a little "embarrassed" to tell someone about my obsession with stickers, stationery and cute papers, scrapbooking stuff, my finished "output" didn't always look artsy or craftsy but they make me feel relaxed and happy so its all good.
Self-professed coffee and tea addict. My brain does not start to function till I've had my cup of coffee and the rest of the day it'd be a mix of tea and coffee. I have two coffee machines at home (you can never have to many coffee machines!) and a lot of tea bags. I prefer the individually packed tea bags as opposed to the boxes of 20 or 100 bags in a box.
I read a lot - during my free time on my Kindle or paperback books. My apartment is lined with shelves containing almost 3,000 books.
I collect postage stamps and postcards (over at postcrossing) but please no ad cards - I got a lot of those already.
Currently learning: modern pen calligraphy and the Korean language. It is a bit tough to balance these things especially since I have law school to think of. There's so many things I want to learn all at once and I think I have something sort of an ADHD, if that there's something like that.
Am single with no kids - relationships seem to go way beyond above my head. Oblivious I was told.
My promise is to always always always send out my swaps and should life suddenly happens, rest assured I will communicate with my swap partner and send the swap as soon as I am able.
When I was 12 years old, in elementary school I had this friend gave me a decorated box loaded with stationery, pens and other writing implements. She used a decorated shoebox and added divisions on it unfortunately the house I grew up in was prone to flooding and that amongst several of our stuff were lost/damaged. That box prolly prompted my love for snail mail and I know I can always make my own but there's just something special when someone assembles it for you. There's the charm, the mystery and surprise. I miss that box.
I love these books ... they're the books that I read again and again and again.ΓΒ
Currently Reading: Small Victories by Ann Lamont
I am a huge anime fan and I admit to being an otaku. Started with Sailor Moon when I was 7 years old and used to ask my mom to tie my hair the way Sailor Moon does ^_^ .... oh the memories!
Some of my favorite all time anime series and movies of all times are the ff:
I'm also a fan of English TV series Grimm (watched all episodes to date), How to Get Away with Murder, Persons of Interest, Once Upon A Time, The Originals, Revenge, Supernaturals, The Mentalist, Game of Thrones, Lie to Me, Outlander, Scandal
As well as Korean / Taiwanese / Chinese & Japanese TV dramas, to name a few: Meteor Garden, Absolute Boyfriend, Coffee Prince, Personal Taste, Empress Ki, Hana Yori Dango and a whole lot of others.
Current obsession is Train to Busan! I watched this film in the movies twice, yep twice! First time with my classmates and then the second time around by myself. It was awesome. Though I could be biased I have been a huge fan of Gong Yoo ever since I saw him on the Korean drama series, Coffee Prince.
Favorite movies to date: The Lake House, Il Mari, Be With You, Hachiko, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Proposal, X-Men movies, One Litre of Tears, Magic Kitchen, Detroit Metal City,
Color: I looooove pink (all shades of pink), mint & pastel colors.
Crafts: My mum loved to do cross stitching and I inherited it from her. I've finished quite a lot of projects but quite a few are still not framed (will get around to it eventually.
Crafts I want to Get Started On:
Birthday wishlist: Project Life -- to get me started :)
I hoard stuff which is problematic every time I move but I love them, they make me smile. I'd happily swap for them.
I'm asthmatic and allergic to fur & sea foods. I can only eat fish. I have a small list at the moment but I think this will get longer as I get more experience in swapping and in discovering the things I want / need and don't want / need.

I'm glad you got my package okay! It did take a long time to get there, huh? I'm sorry you have been flaked on so much. Maybe if you take a break and come back in awhile. Try swaps on different sites? Good luck to you!
Hi. @washingtonmaverick received her resend from me for the Letter Pads swap, so you should be receiving yours soon too.
I did another resend for @snowqueen1426 for another swap and she received everything and then a week later she received the ORIGINAL package.
So that's just to show how unpredictable the SA post office is. But I always send my swaps out.
Received some Jan. wishes from you from the Cheap Postage Group. Thanks for the notecards, and a BIG thank you for the lucky star papers- I can't seem to find them anywhere around here :)
