Description:

I’m always looking for new favorite recipes to keep everyday-dinners a wonderful experience. While I have quite a few favorites already, it would be great to be able to serve wonderful dinners every night without too many repeaters a month. That is why I think it would be great to start 2010 with sharing some of our absolute best everyday-dinner recipes.

I’m making this swap electronic, as I am primarily interested in receiving a collection of tried and true recipes to pick and choose from. I’m looking for quality and diversity, but most of all absolute favorites.

  • The recipes can be for pastas, soups, rice, casseroles, oven baked dishes, savory pies and so on just as long as they are home cooked and the prep. time is reasonable – it’s always nice with recipes ready to serve in 30 minutes, but in my opinion what’s most important is that everyone loves it – I don’t mind spending more time cooking, even on week days, if the result is brilliant!!!
  • The recipes can be your own, passed down, from your favorite cookbook and so on – the important thing is that each recipe is a family favorite.
  • Please send the recipes in the body of the email, and please include a sentence or two on what makes each recipe special.

This swap isn’t profile-based, but an opportunity to share and expand your collection. Rating will be based on receiving a list of 10 favorites. Anyone without no-sends can join as long as you are willing to share your favorite recipes, but PLEASE fulfill and please remember to rate your partners as well. I don’t mind angeling, but I really don’t want that to be necessary… … Am already looking forward to swap with you ;-)

Did I miss something? Do I understand that there will be 5 partners and 10 recipes? I like the e-mail format because it saves on postage and there is no trip to the post office.

Exactly ;-) 10 recipes to 5 partners via email :-)

lots of people seem to be sending recipes with measurements in 'cups' - what's a cup? Is it just a random cup like you would drink tea out of?

Scuslidge 01/11/2010 #

It's a measurement used in the U.S. (and I don't know where else!). If it's a liquid ingredient, one cup equals 8 ounces. I don't know how to translate a non-liquid ingredient.

I am including crock pot dishes that have 8+ hour cooking times but the prep time is less than 15 minutes. Hope that is okay??

AnaBella 01/15/2010 #

@shoeperfect - a US cup is 8,3 ounce (UK, liquid) or 16,65 Tbsp (UK), I normally measure in deciliter and a US cup equals 2,36 dl.

@nelliebugsdotcom - you're welcome to send a crock pot dish with extended cooking time if it's a favorite, this swap is sender's choice :-)
