Description: | |
There are thousands of animal shelters across the country, and most of them rely on monetary and food donations to stay in operation. With our floundering economy, many shelters have less than a 30 day supply of food and they are full to the brink with dogs just waiting for forever homes. More and more dogs are coming in with less and less donations. Not all dogs are as fortunate as ours to have loving homes. In this swap, you will have 1 partner. The swap is a two part swap 1) You will buy a bag of kibble (dog food) and then you will donate it to a local shelter or to a favorite animal rescue group. 2) You will then write a letter to your partner telling them a) what you donated and b) tell them about the shelter or rescue group you donated too and why you chose that shelter or group. Two steps 1) Buy and Donate Kibble 2) Write your partner a letter about what you donated and why you chose that organization There is not a montetary minimum or limit on this swap, but just try to give the shelter something that will help them out for more than a day. (sample bags, unless it's a ton of them doesn't really make a significant mark in the daily needs of a shelter) This is a nice thing we can do for our communities because we love our dogs and a good way to get to know each other a little better. I have made this international since the only thing we actually have to mail is a letter. Also, this is an "honor" swap. I can't imagine that any of us would say that we donated kibble and then not follow though, but if you would like, you can include a picture of your donation and your trip to the shelter. |
