Description:

European swappers – to assure language variety (If you are not from Europe, please consider joining this swap www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/63088)

If you (or your children) like children’s stories with illustrations, if you don’t mind translating and you enjoy cultural variety, you will like this swap. It’s an intercultural kind of swap! And a challenge!

For this swap you will need to send ONE (PUBLISHED) PICTURE BOOK FOR CHILDREN (AGE 4-7) TO ONE SWAP-PARTNER ALONG WITH ENGLISH TRANSLATION.

Please note:

1.) The book should be new (or used - but in mint condition).

2.) It should have colorful illustrations and more text, interesting for children, age 4-7, because we all (and especially kids) like drawings and stories and not just one-line simple descriptions of what is in the pictures.

3.) The story should be written in your language by an author from your country (it can be a traditional story/legend in your country). Don’t send an English version of the story (unless you are from UK) nor a story that is already known all over the world (like The Little Red Riding Hood). An original story in another country’s language is what makes this swap interesting for adults.

4.) The English translation of the story should be as precise as possible (and not just a resume) and on a separate sheet of paper. Swap-partner might try matching words/sentences in the text with the English translation. If you handwrite, please make sure your writing is legible.

5.) The book can be thin or thick, any size, a legend, a tale about adventures etc. – sender’s choice.

6.) Please send the book in an envelope well-protected to protect it from bending or damage.

Swappers will have 2 weeks to complete the swap after partners are assigned. Please consider send date or else pm your swap partner.

Please don’t join if you think you can’t meet the requirements. This swap is cost-related and will take your time to translate.

A few more details:

Newbies with at least 3 completed swaps and ratings - welcome.

Participants should have an average rate of 4,98.

I will find an angel for this swap.

Nice swap, bad timing for me. I'm still watching. ;)

Maybe a private one sometime later, pahasiga...

What a great idea! I hope someone will make a swap like this soon for those of us not in Europe.

Hm.. you mean "everybody but people in USA"? ;) Because as soon as it is "international", you'll have 95% of people from USA, and then the point of this swap kind of disappears.

I remember seeing a similar kind of swap a while ago. It was for 3 children's books plus one gift for the child - I am not sure whether it was international or US only, but I know there was no translation mentioned. And there were few participants.
