The requirement of this swap is just to make new friends and enjoy the joy of writing!

Swap Requirements:

  • Letters must be handwriten as nature intended (of course if you can only type letters that is fine, but please let it me known in the comments)

*At least two pages please, were not writing novels but we need to know about each other!!

  • Be willing to reply! This isn't just about collecting mail, its about making friends.

  • No Flaker-doodles please, Nobody under a 4.9 please. Although I am willing to allow anybody will less to give me an email and let me know why they should be able to join. Newbies welcome of course, but please make sure your profile is full of goodies as we want to be able to know what to write to you about!

Hi Mrs Whiffin!!, As requested I am letting you know that I will be typing my letter to my future pen pal. I have arthritis in my hands and holding a pen and writing is pretty painful. But I love to write!! So I hope this doesn't keep me out of the running....I just completed (in April) a Pen Pal for a year swap and loved sending and receiving mail. I would love to do another of those if that ever comes available again. I have several pen pals here in the states and there is nothing better than getting a letter and becoming acquainted with and becoming friends with a total stranger. Just shows the world is really very very small. And that as human beings we are all wanting to be connected. Thank you..... carriel

Aww Cariel what a lovely reply! Could not have put it better myself! Of course typing is fine, it's all about the content x x x

This seems like so much fun! I LOVE writing letters. My penmanship isn't everything, but I like to handwrite my letters. Since I journal on the computer, letters are the only penmanship practice I get! I can't wait to meet my new pal!

Wow thank you guys! You have made this a top 10 swap! Once the assign button comes up...its all go!

I'll be typing most of my letter since it easier, faster, and my hand gets tired after a paragraph or two. Plus, I have heard it said that my writing becomes illegible after a few lines so typing would be best. (Even my mother, who is a stickler about hand written letters, agrees that my typing is much superior to my scrawl, and finally, after 35 years of letter writing, admits she prefers my typed ones)

I'm going to ask a stupid question is a "page" considered to be A4 or A5 size ?

alexalgebra 06/12/2010 #

I can handwrite, but I really prefer to type on my typewriter. Is that ok?

Maggiesmother 06/12/2010 #

I have to type as my handwriting is sooo bad. Same as borgqueen. Is this OK I am watching and time is running out. let me or us know. Thanks in advance

I don't mind receiving hand written or typed letters x

mrswhiffin 06/13/2010 #

I would say standard letter writing size is a5, i think!

Alexlgebra - Typewriter sounds cool, really retro!

on no i just missed out on signing up!

I didn't think about this until after the fact, but my letters are all written on notecards. They're bigger cards and are about the same amount of writing as I would have done if I used sheets and not cards. I'm hoping that small technicality won't be a problem. They're already dropped in the box.
