Description:

I am sure you all have extra pieces of fabric. I did this swap back in March so I think it is about time to do another. The summers can be a busy time for most of you but lets see what we can develope.
A swatch I consider is anything from 3 x 3 square up, including selvages from fabric (I love them), half of a fat quarter, just some extra fabric that can be used for crafting or quilting projects. If you have a preference put it down in the comment section but don't get disappointed if your swapper doesn't send that as maybe she didn't have exactly what you want. Don't send crap! Too harsh a word, sorry. Send at least 10 pieces this time to 2 swappers, shouldn't cost too much postage.
USA only and I will check newbies profile to exclude those who don't have a proper profile

I prefer either selvages or strips 1 1/2:" or 2", plain, printed and any color.

I just wanted to double check...we are to send at least 10 pieces to each of our 2 partners, correct? Not 5 to each for a total of 10 pieces.

Also, must the scrap pieces have straight edges, such as in te shape of a square, rectangle, or triangle? Or can they be unusaul shapes, as scraps often are, as long as there are segments that are large enough to be used?

ladydy5 06/ 7/2010 #

Yes, total of twenty pieces, 10 to each swapper. Don't send ragged, torn looking pieces but sometimes you may have triangles from a finished project your are doing, just make sure they are usable pieces, not just scraps you would toss in the trash. The word here is "usable".

I would love anything you send as long as it is 100% cotton. thank you!

ladydy5, this is a great idea for a swap! I like it!

ladydy5 06/ 8/2010 #

You know we can certainly use the swatches.

I collect selvages so they are most welcome. And I only use quilting fabrics, preferably 100% cotton, no knits, or other fabrics -- otherwise, I just love opening packages with bits of fabric and discovering new designs and colors.

Calicos, florals, vintage scraps are my fav. I am especially looking for 100% cotton in purples/lavenders - a dasiy print would be a bonus - for a quilt project I will be starting soon. :-)

mikkisgrmom 06/12/2010 #

great idea! I have boxes of scraps!! I would like mostly florals.

Looking for to this swap.. I new here but not new to swapping!! I love whimsical fabrics, cherries, cupcakes, pinks, greens, and fun fabrics. I love to make ornaments for Christmas so fabrics that look Christmasy would be fine. Anything, really!! Smiles, BJ

imafundork 06/18/2010 #

I would love any quilters' cotton scraps that are 2.5" square or larger. I am using them to paper piece 1" hexagons. Thank you!

shockbunnie 06/20/2010 #

I'm down for whatever, I'd prefer not to receive Christmas prints though... I'm collecting pieces to make a cozy for my standup mixer. =]

I love bright colors and 100% cotton the rest is your choice. Very excited about the swap as a new member to all of this Smiles Dimples

Lots and lots to share!! Definitely prefer 100% cotton quilting fabric, good quality...strips are great, any length, 2 and a half or 3 inches wide...but really, anything useable. Christmas themed is okay, but NO other specifically holiday themed stuff (Halloween, July 4th etc) or cartoons or any copyright type images like Disney...I don't use anything like that. Most anything else...color, print, solid, pattern...is fine...thanks!

TwiddleLee 06/28/2010 #

Oooh I love fabric, this sounds like fun! :) I love any type of fabric, just not holiday themed, or cartoons like disney stuff.

Holalola 06/29/2010 #

I would love 100% cotton and linen, kawaii and vintage. No holiday themed fabric or jersey. :)

firelass 06/30/2010 #

What a neat idea for a swap..I have tons of fabric. I would also be more than happy to receive holiday fabric :)

Had to ban Dimples because her profile was empty, hate doing that but only fair. I am trusting another with a rating of two 3 rating, hoping a 5 might raise it for her. Good luck my friends.

Mailing off my packages on Friday, the 2nd for the swap. It was fun finding fabrics for my swap partners!!!! Smiles, Beth
