Description:

This series of ATCs are inspired by the book "Wreck this Journal" by Keri Smith. If you've not heard of her, check out her website. I will be getting ideas for the ATC's using her book, her blog and her 100 ideas list. Keri is so darn creative and really has inspired me to think "outside the box". I encourage you to check out her website and do a search on flickr for "wreck this journal" to see what others have created in their journals.

The idea behind this ATC series is to let loose & really put 100% of yourself into the project, get down & dirty.....even if it means that your artwork is not always "pretty" by social standards. Above all, have fun! You will send 2 ATCs (described below) to one partner.

This swap is for the first two ATCs in this series. Each ATC must be the standard size ATC & constructed with a sturdy backing. ---->Also, be sure to notate the swap name & your userid name on the back of the ATC. This will make it easier for your partner to rate you.<----

ATC #1..... your partner's name... spend time writing your partner's name on your ATC in as many ways you can think of...you can use their real name or their swapbot username....some examples: write it teeny tiny or very big, write it backwards, write it very faintly, write it with the opposite hand that you normally write with, do a collage of cut out letters from a magazine.... make this ATC not only about writing their name but also a little piece of artwork....maybe incorporate their fave colors or fave cartoon characters or just write their name in as many creative ways that you can think of and make it look artistic..... be sure to use the entire ATC canvas

ATC #2.....sticky things... place anything sticky on the ATC, using up the entire ATC canvas. try to think of unusual things....not just stickers but other things as well.... get creative!

Again, the goal it to let loose and be totally creative, with no boundaries. When rating your partner keep this in mind....if you get 2 ATCs in the mail and you can really tell that the person put time and effort into it you give them a 5 (and a heart if you choose to do so).

Any questions give me a hollar..... this is the first swap in this series so you may have an idea or suggestion that I have not thought of...

the nitty gritty: this swap will be less than pleasant to angel as it will be an ongoing swap series, so PLEASE do not join unless you are able to meet the guidelines. You must have at least a 4.9 rating with no unexplained 1's or 3's. I know that things happen so if you do have a 1 or 3 just drop me a line about what happened. You must have participated in at least 3 snail mail swaps. If you are a newbie and would like to join, send me a pm and I will look at your profile, etc and make a decision.

Yes! I totally wanted to make a swap like this! I love the idea of using different materials to make art. This is going to be so much fun. :)

yay! I thought it was a cool idea but wasn't sure if others would think so too....

Very cool! I have two of her books, both of which are awesome, so I think this will be really fun!

Love this idea but I'd rather have my own name and make one for my partner with their name. Just a thought...

I think that sounds better.... I'll change it....thanks for the suggestion :)

fantastic idea, the "sticky" one scares me only in the sense of what I could possibly receive ...watching for now..
