NOTE: If you want your swap or tag to be a surprise don't look at my Flickr pics until you get your swap! I don't always get them posted right away but you take that chance if you peek ;)
Hi! My name is Angela. I'm the mother of a beautiful 19 year old daughter. I have been a Para-educator (teacher associate) for the past 9 years. The first 4 years I taught at the Catholic School in Kdg. and 1st grade along with teaching Pre-K Spanish. My 5th year I taught ELL (English Language Learners) at the public Middle School and Elementary school. Now I'm working in the Special Ed classroom with level 3 students, which means students with profound disabilities. They are high school students and I wasn't sure about HS but it has been great. And my students are absolutely wonderful! Who knew HS students could be so polite, respectful, and well-mannered. Ha! I LOVE my job!
I'm an honest and caring person. I have a strong belief in my faith. I like the simple things in life and find joy in such things.
I love crafting. My main crafts are beading and making jewelry and re-doing items to make them new again! I also love paper crafts - ATCs, inchies, and Matchboxes!
I put my heart into ALL my swaps and expect the same in return. I promise to rate fairly. If you have contacted me that you will be late BEFORE the send by date, than a five is still deserving, but if I don't hear from you and you are late I will rate accordingly. I'll give a heart if I really like your design and see that you put forth a good effort in the swap. I don't think I should give everyone a heart just for sending something extra. If you took the time to look at my profile AND if you take the time to write a little something with your swap, like how or why you made what you did or tell me a little something about yourself you will make my day. I think swapping is personal, so personal touches always please me most. I always take care to do the swaps to the best of my creative abilitiy and I always include a note/letter with my swaps. I would like the same in return. (A simple "here's your swap - hope you like it", does not count.) I also take care in email swaps, personalizing each one and when I receive a simple 5 with no comment on a swap, even an email swap I think it's just plain RUDE. I take pride in my ratings and my hearts - if a swap doesn't make it to you let me know because I SENT it and will re-send if necessary. I ALWAYS send on-time and I ALWAYS rate - I usually rate the day I receive my package =)

My main craft has been jewelry making. I love beads and sparkly things. Since finding Swap-Bot I have been doing lots of paper crafts and have found a new love of multi-media crafts. I love all crafts though. I have my own craft room and try my hand in all types of mediums. I love the huge variety of craft papers on the market. I do a little with polymer clay. My latest obsession is re-purposing items. I even started a Facebook page with a small business with this. I prefer to make gifts for people rather than buy something that anyone can get. I love words, sayings, and poems. I write some of my own poems now and then and words are a huge inspiration in many of my other crafts.
I don't know that I have a favorite book per say. But I do love to read. I've belonged to a book club and got to read a variety of books. That's what I really enjoy about being in a book club. I read books that I may not have chosen on my own and I've really enjoy them. I used to read romances when I was a teen then moved on to Stephen King books, now I like a variety of topics. A few years ago I read the series Left Behind. It was so interesting and thought provoking. Other books I really loved was The Divinci Code, and The Hunger Games Series (which I read before it became so popular and the movie has nothing compared to the book). Here are books I have enjoyed: The Divinci Code, The Left Behind Series, The Road, The Stand, Kite Runner, Change of Heart, The General's Daughter, Sarah's Key, The Charm School, The Hunger Games, White Oleander, and so many others to numerous to list :) Just a few of my favorite authors: Jodi Picoult, Nelson DeMille, Dan Brown, Lee Child, & James Patterson.
I do love my T.V. shows. In the summer I don't watch much T.V. but when I do watch I almost always have it on HGTV or the History channel. I love craft and decorating shows. I loved Design Star. But in the Fall and Winter season I love all the CSI's, Criminal Minds, NCIS, SURVIVOR, The Amazing Race, Two Broke Girls, Scorpion, Mike & Molly,The Good Wife, Madam Secretary, Under teh Dome,The Mentalist...*Favorites that have disappeared - Cold Case, Heroes, Ghost Whisperer, Jericho :-(
I love rock and alternative music. Anything from oldies rock-and-roll to 70s and 80s rock and hard rock. GnR is my all time fav! And Love Hinder, The Frey, the Eagles, the Beatles, Billy Joel, Pink, Kid Rock. I also love church/Christian music and Christmas songs! Absolutely HATE country/western music and not fond of rap or techno either. One of my all time favorite songs is "Seasons in the Sun".
MY DAUGHTER! Family and friends. My dog (she is a chihuahua). Reading, being creative, jewelry making, vintage jewelry, vintage art, rings,re-purposing, a glass of wine with friends, Margaritas!, the smell of vanilla, apples and cinnamon, coconut, and clean fresh scents. I love craft and bead books and magazines, words, sayings, and quotes, things written in foreign languages, empheria, altered art, cute and pretty (not cutsie or childish), nature art/flowers/landscapes, butterflies, handmade glass beads, magnets, photos, the color BLUE, home decorating, board games, working with kids (teaching), mountains, warm clothes just from the dryer, vanilla coffee, Dove dark chocolates, crosses, Christian religious images, antiques, flee markets, auctions, flowers - daisy (my fav), tulips, sunflowers, wildflowers, vacations, shopping, Christmas, Christmas ornaments, the Season Fall, purses, angels, photos, taking pictures, my laptop, and MORE!
Country music, swearing, asian interior design, overly modern design, uncomfortable - high heeled shoes, cutsie things (Hello Kitty, Kawaii, cartoons, stuffed animals), doing dishes, smoking, unorganized people, crafters who rush to make their swaps, FLAKERS (getting really tired of these people), receiving swaps solo with nothing written or letter telling me a little about the swap or the swaper themselves, non-raters, NO COMMENTS AFTER RATING, people who are always saying "poor me", people who drive when using a cell phone, loud neighbors, loud cars/trucks, re-runs on TV, peppers, the smell of cooked cabbage, liars, cheaters, scary gothic art, most animal art in my home- (anything from deer, wolves, pigs, cows, owls (ok there are some cute owls, but the real ones creep me out, and I don't want them decorating my home, tigers....but love dogs, but I don't decorate with them). I hate country western design, kids acting like adults, spam, solicitors, people who don't recycle, those who throw garbage on the side of the road, people who go out in public in their pajamas, people who are always on their cell phones or texting, parents who don't discipline their children, graphic t-shirts, And more........

Note for Jewelry swaps:
I wear everything - rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets. I like size 8 rings. Bracelet size 7 1/2" to 8"! I usually wear dangly earrings - an inch is plenty long. Nothing to big. I do NOT like chandelier earrings. I love all colors in jewelry but I guess I mostly wear blues and earthtones(greens/browns), oh and I wear a lot of black for work (school colors are red and black). My favorite stone is turquoise, but I dislike the southwestern style jewelry - there is so many other ways to use this lovely stone besides that way. I prefer silver over gold. I also like some of the other metals like copper and gun metal too.
