About Me

If you have me as a partner, I can't wait to see your style. To me, that is what makes swapping handmade things so fabulous...to see what someone else creates and be inspired! So please don't worry about me having a lot of specific likes that you need to worry about. I'm a Christian, and anything that doesn't disrespect that will be most happily welcomed.

Also, please never feel like you need send extras to me. I have a lot of stuff! More than anything, I enjoy a swap put together with thought and care!

My Flickr account has pictures of just about every swap I have sent out, though my most recent swap photos are still on my phone--so if you are interested in seeing the kind of things I enjoy making, please take a peek! I don't post pictures until my partner has received the swap--so if I'm sending to you, you can look without fear of spoilers!

More photos on Instagram.

I love Pinterest, and am always looking for more inspirational boards to follow. I love it when people follow me!

Another place I love is Ravelry. It is a wonderful place to network and find inspiration and patterns for knitting and crocheting. I love adding friends there!

Thanks for reading and happy swapping!

Things I love...

Generalities:

  • Miniature things, tiny cute things--the smaller the better!
  • Some favorite themes: woodland, whimsical fairy tales, birds, flowers
  • Hand crafted items using real vintage items
  • Happy mail with real stamps & a decorated envelope or handmade postcards crafted with care & sent naked
  • The color aqua
  • Totoro
  • Letterpress items
  • One inch pinback buttons
  • Lucky stars
  • Interesting business cards (I've started collecting them!)

Postcards:

  • I love postcards sent naked with real stamps
  • Handmade postcards are my absolute favorite things to swap these days
  • I prefer postcards that are 4.25" x 6" or smaller (because they fit in a book I made to display them), but I love and treasure them all. I am also planning to make a book that will fit 5" x 7" postcards
  • I prefer to not receive paste and pass postcards

Crafty type supplies:

  • Interesting cardboard coasters from restaurants
  • Glass beads
  • Charms
  • Japanese papers
  • Washi tape, fabric tape & deco tape
  • Fabulous, interesting, or unusual brads
  • Japanese cute fabric, especially linen/cotton blends

Vintage Goodies:

  • Vintage buttons, especially those with rhinestones
  • Vintage children's books, 1950's or earlier
  • Vintage maps
  • Vintage lace and trims
  • Vintage packaging of all kinds

Handmade Treasures:

  • Hand-carved stamps
  • Itty bitty books
  • Handmade postcards sent naked (4.25 inches by 6 inches, or smaller, preferred)
  • Matchboxes decorated from the heart inside & out. I especially love matchboxes with tiny stuffies inside!
  • Zines
  • ATCs, especially hand-drawn or watercolor

Comment: Sweet! Love your background...how'd you do it? Nothing better than nature...oh happy day! These colors were also a challenge for me. Thanks for reading my profile...doing stained glass for about 10 years. See ya at the mail box.
Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed the postcard I made for you! The background is tissue paper. Simply wad it up and then smooth it out a bit. Adhere it to the chipboard with spray adhesive--easy, fun texture is the result!

Comment: Your travel pc is GORGEOUS! I love it front and back! I admire your mod podge skills as mine never seem to seal so smoothly as yours. I think it is so clever your travel card is a map of Australia, with an Australian stamp! Ha! Your vacation in WA sounds great, it is really beautiful up there. Have a great day! :-)
Response: I'm so glad you like the postcard--it was fun to make! Thanks for hosting a great swap! (P.S. I brush in all one direction, and then very, very lightly brush perpendicular to that direction. My Dad taught me that trick while painting to help conceal brush strokes!)

Comment: Thanks for the purple postcard, the lovely quote (beautiful penmenship!), the mystical dragonfly, and the meadowlark postage stamp. This will go in my "favorites" collection. Hope the rest of your summer is more pleasant weather-wise. Maybe we will have a glorious fall! <3
Response: Thanks so much for your lovely comments--I'm so happy you liked the postcard!! It was actually a little frustrating to make--I hadn't realized that I wouldn't be able to actually see anything I was drawing until after applying the watercolors! Still too hot here with hazy skies due to forest fires--I'm hoping for a fabulous fall too!

Response: I'm so glad you liked the card--it was a lot of fun to make! If you ever happen upon a Trader Joe's, I would definitely recommend that you pop in--they are a fun store to visit :)

Comment: Lisa, thanks for the pretty pc and the poem! I must know, what is the pen you used to write your very tiny return addy? = ) ♡♡♡♡♡
Response: Thanks so much! I used a Micron Pigma 005 pen. It is amazing, but the tip is oh so delicate--if you get one don't ever let anyone accidentally borrow it!
