What's Happening in my Life

2018 IS HERE- POSTCARD UPDATE: I love State or Country PC- ^Thank you!

Christmas Card Request: Please don't write on the back of the front of the card-so I can re-use for other Swap projects. Thanks and Merry Christmas.

10 Dec Mon: If it is not one thing it is another!! I broke out with Excema down the entire right side of my body. I am absolutely miserable. Already been to the Doctor! Never had this before and am trying to learn everything about it and what to do. If you know anything-PM me. How long does this last?

6 Dec Thurs: Finally got rid of the gorilla sitting on my chest. I have been doing Christmas Cards this week. It is to late to send packages-so they will get sent the day after Christmas.
Reason: The Bethlehem Post Office is swamped this time of year. People actually come from other towns to mail to get the Bethlehem Postal Stamp.

29 Nov Thurs: Just back from second trip to Drs and CVS...bacterial bronchitis. Never made the Potato Salad! At this rate, I might be skipping Christmas too!~ Hopefully I have enough Stamps to mail out Swaps

21 Nov Wed: Thanksgiving Eve. I waited until last week to accept an invitation and now I have Bronchitis and have to make Potato Salad:-(

1 NOV Thurs: I had 4 Trick or Treaters. On to Turkey Day!

11 Oct Thurs: Survived another Hurricane and a few tornados.

8 Oct Mon: Slowly getting my house back in order. It was 90 degrees here Sat. Temps are dropping only because Hurricane Michael is headed this way.

18Sept Tues: My roommate/ex-husband feels he is well enough to move back to Virginia and be responsible for himself!! Mixed emotions-ready to have my house back but not sure how he will be by himself again. Asked my church to pray for him and I have Let Go and Let God - I think!!
Signed up for several Swaps to keep busy. Will soon be graduating from Square Dance Class (last time I danced was 32 years ago).

Still trying to swim 3x a week but have issues with the water being to cold:-) .

10 Sept Mon: Just realized that I passed 2000 Swaps..Yeah Me with 100 Hosted!

22 Aug Wed: Finally got the printer to work.

20 Aug Mon: Just got back from Best Buy with my new computer ( a Birthday gift from my Little Brother) My old one hard drive failed last week:-(

3 Aug Fri: I did it-bought a new car! 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback.

2 Aug Thurs: Looking to buy a new/used car. My 2006 Chevy Aveo is totally not reliable. 12 years:-(

24 July Tues: Just to much right now!!

4 June (Mon): Spring lasted about a week-rained for two straight weeks in May and directly into Hot Humid Georgia SUMMER.
Still going to the pool M-W-F, hanging on my inversion table and have added Tumeric capsules to my routine. So surprised that the Tumeric actually worked. Pain level has gone from 10 down to 2.

12 April (Thurs): Well Spring is trying to arrive here in Ga. Today's pollen count over 5000+ I am still going to the Pool and am waiting for my Inversion Table to arrive. Orthopedic (after 3 months of x-rays, MRIs, shots and a two week try of meds(made me sick) sez they cannot fix my back( combination of arthritis aggravated by fibromylgia in spine with 3 compressed vertebrae in neck and spinal stenosis. It is official-I am OLD! Taking One Day at a Time. (Celebrating 29 years Sobriety in May) Not even getting old is worth getting drunk.....

30 Jan (Tues): Update-still going to the Pool- back has started hurting again-may need another shot!! Contemplating back surgery:-(
The last two weekends my neighbor/handyman installed permanent wood shelves in the Garage. Little by little, I am getting things re-organized. Most of my craft supplies have been crammed in there for a year. I would really like to get back to ATCs and Card making. Weather temps keep going up/down here in GA but nothing serious. I am truly blessed with livable conditions and wonderful friends/neighbors. Hugs & Prayers to you that are struggling.

9 Jan (Tues) Happy New Year to you all. The freeze has passed-went down to 18 here in my backyard:-( Back up to 58 today. I have been sticking to my Resolution to water aerobics 3times a week-Mon/Wed/Fri. Yesterday went for MRI on neck-3 vertebrae are compressed-may need "the shot" Also stopped by the Grand Opening of the New Hobby Lobby-used 40% off coupon on Sharpie Pens.

2017 IS DONE- Thurs 21 Dec: Got the shot last week-did not hurt as bad as anticipated-more anxiety than anything. Two days later-was feeling better and started Water Aerobics 3x a week. I love being in the Pool. Got 95% cards out and have started wrapping gifts. Merry Christmas and God Bless All.

1 Dec FRI nite: MRI results --Bulging/degenerating disc and Arthritis. I am on a mild pain med until 13 Dec when I get a shot in my back.

27 Nov Mon Morn: Tried to get the tree up this weekend but my back is not cooperating. I will get the MRI results on Wed. Between the Orthopedic and Podiatrist hope they can fix whatever is causing the pain My daughter just got back from Maryland and brought me my Thanksgiving CrabCake....Yummm:-)

19 Nov Sun nite: Just had the greatest visit from my older brother (he is 75). He and his wife stopped by on their way to Tampa, FL for the winter. Thanksgiving is almost here. Fixing a duck, cornbread and vegies.

BUTTONS: I love all kinds of buttons. Would love to get more Dogs, Cats and Novelty type.

POSTCARDS:. I like mine with a note/quote/recipe please and postmarked unless the swap sez differently. I love TOURISTY PC the best. Not really into the Vintage.

Hey there! Hope you're doing well today!

I really love that fruitcake recipe you listed here. I'm always leery of fruitcake, but your recipe sounds tempting.

And now, let me offer a kind of recipe in exchange, since I see you like Jello. This is actually household illness remedy we use. It's really good for when you have a sore throat, but we pretty much use it anytime we feel sick at all. It may be a placebo effect on the illness, but I don't care.

  1. Heat water hot enough to drink without scalding mouth/throat.
  2. Add 1/4-1/3 pkg of lime or lemon Jello to a mug and add the hot water, stirring until dissolved.
  3. Drink and repeated as needed.

Have a lovely day and rest of 2018!

"When autumn darkness falls, what we will remember are the small acts of kindness: a cake, a hug, an invitation to talk, and every single rose. These are all expressions of a nation coming together and caring about its people." -Jens Stoltenberg

What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like. Author: Augustine

Book Quote - August

“Over time, Xan had started making certain preparations - a blanket woven of the softest lamb’s wool to wrap the child and keep it warm, a stack of cloths to freshen a wet bottom, a bottle or two of goat’s milk to fill an empty tummy. When the goat’s milk ran out (as it invariably did - the trek was long, and milk is heavy), Xan did what any sensible witch would do: once it was dark enough to see the stars, she reached up one hand and gathered starlight in her fingers, like the silken threads of spider’s webs, and fed it to the child. Starlight, as every witch knows, is marvelous food for a growing infant. Starlight collection takes a certain knack and talent (magic, for starters), but children eat it with gusto. They grow fat and sated and shining.”
