About Me

Hello everyone! I enjoy sending and receiving happy snail mail. I live in North Carolina and am a Wisconsin transplant. I have no human babies, just one elderly fur-baby - Mr. Carter the Cat, who recently turned the big 2-0 in January.

I mainly like to do postcard, notecard, journal and letter swaps; so please do not feel it is necessary to send any extras items to earn a heart. I already have way, way too much in my inventory!

Favorite Books

I enjoy most books, historical fiction, travel memoirs, and biographies. I will read just about anything, there have been maybe two or three books I started but did not finish because I did not like them.

Favorite Crafts

I started making cards a few of years ago; and have discovered that I do not have as much time for it as I thought I would. I would also like to learn how to knit or crochet and give cross-stitch, but oh where to find the time!

Postcrossing is my version of armchair traveling! I love to travel, and Postcrossing helps with the travel bug. I am currently in the initial stages of planning my next trip which will be either Morocco or walking the Camino de Santiago - I'm undecided right now. So any recommendations or suggestions would be appreciated.

Walking / hiking and generally being outdoors, but there is nothing about camping that I enjoy - it's too much work to be enjoyable.

Favorite Television

I'm not much of a TV or movie watcher, but I will make an effort to watch the Green Bay Packers if they are ever shown on our local station - which is rare!

I love all things stationery (paper, notecards, journals, stickers, washi tape & pens);

All things pineapple;

I have become obsessed with the 'hello' and 'choose joy' motifs;

I'm a Francophile so that includes anything French related (Eiffel Tower, macaroons, lavender, berets, etc.);

Journal prompts;

Religious items: I am a Christian and I enjoy learning about the various religions of the world. Feel free to send something related to your faith for learning purposes. They are all fascinating, and the 3 monotheistic religions are very closely related.

Flowers: poinsettias, magnolias and geraniums

Animals: Cats, Hedgehogs, Llamas, Otters, Owls, Lambs/Sheep and Giraffes (adult appropriate ones are a challenge to find); and

Vespa / scooter - I have always wanted one, hopefully someday I'll own one.

Glitter - it usually ends up all over the house and my face!

Hello Kitty - yes, I'm a cat person, but I simply do not appreciate Hello Kitty items.

Cosmetics, bath and body products - I love them, but I now have allergies to a multitude of the ingredients :(

I have recently discovered that I Iike earl grey, mint, and chai teas. I like trying different flavors, so feel free to send others you think I may like.

Comment: Thank you for sharing. Yes, things can be frustrating right now. Many people are losing hope. A quote from today's online church service... Out of hopelessness comes hope. I am a teacher and have been teaching from home for a week and a half now. We are using Google Classroom and other online programs.

Comment: Thank you, Candace, for the notecard but I was barely able to read your message. I'm not entirely sure what you did but I made out that you did something on Saturday and something was beautiful. And you were up too late on Saturday and... the cat won't let you sleep? I'm sorry but I'm a little disappointed because it looks and feels rushed. I had just dropped off a notecard to you in the mail this morning for the most recent weekend swap and I put a lot more thought and care into mine. I'm just a little thrown. I don't want a resend. I only request for you to slow down when you write in the future. I was able to read your writing on the front of the envelope though. That's cool. Anyway, have a good week.
Comment: Cute card. And I know how that is, everyone panics here when we get a hard freeze lol

I'm hosting a new series of Bible studies in the Proverbs Women group. This series is focusing on the Gospel of Luke. It's found here if you'd like to join in. I've done it differently than the previous ones.
