Description:

This will be a book of hours, mini zine format in the Tudor style, if you do not know what a book of hours is, please click here for more information.

This devotional book will be dedicated to Tudor style poetry, be it by Shakespeare or anonymous authors, songs from troubadours of the time, or your own poetry styled in this way, the text will be a devotion to the love and beauty and intrigues of this time.

Please decorate your zine as you wish you may keep with a period theme, or maybe a theme to fit the poetry, whatever you deem suitable as I dislike stifling creativity. You can hand make your zine, draw, stamp, collage, markers, colored pencils, watercolors, etc. or you can use desktop publishing, however you feel comfortable. I have to go to Kinko's to get my color copies made as I do not have a scanner nor do I have any desktop publishing software. I do handmade and then make copies. What I am trying to say is even if you don't have all the fancy pc tools you can still make a great zine!

You will have 3 partners to send 1 copy of your zine to! Zines are light and fit inside regular envies so this should be fairly inexpensive to ship even internationally.

This is my first time hosting a zine swap so if I have left out any crucial information please pm me or leave a comment below. If this is your first zine, I will give you this link, it is how I learned to make my first zine. With so many amazing video tutorials, I know this will be fun for you whether you are a beginner or experienced zine maker!

Must meet group requirements for this swap and I will still be looking over profiles before assigning partners. I will angel if needed and flakers quickly banished from the realm.

Have fun everyone and happy swapping!

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooh! (Hopping excitedly from foot to foot in a most un-Tudor manner!)

I've never made a 'zine. Or a book of hours, come to that.

Break out the paper, scissors, glue.

Take off gabled hood - it keeps falling into my creativity.

Begin!

LOL! I am so glad you are excited! zines are really fun and relatively easy to make, I hope you have a great time with this one!

I was so excited last time, I forgot to sign up!!! How ridiculous is that?

I just found out what a zine is. It doesn't look to hard but I was wondering if I could make it with a hard cover as seen in one of the instructional videos you guided us to. I thought it would be fun!

I have never made a zine before but now is as good a time as ever! Filpot, your just too funny!

well that is a mini-art journal that has the hard cover, a traditional zine is more like the one the Crafty Chica made, I would say keep it to that especially if it's one of your first, it's supposed to be like a magazine with more of a soft cover, if that makes sense. Maybe we can have a mini art journal swap like that one in the video with Tudor art and verse in it later? Would that be a good idea?

And @sunshinesuperman I am sure your zine will be lovely any of your crafts are divine. I am sure all the zines made here will be beautiful! I am so glad that so many first time zine creators are joining, we can all learn together! What a great group!
