Description:

I've seen a number of swaps like this but I know a few of my fellow swap-botters are on a "swap budget" like myself, and even though I'd like to receive cards from different countries, I can't afford alot of International postage.

This is my own version of a card swap so I am not copying anyone's idea.

In this swap send each partner a store bought or nicely handmade christmas card. PLEASE nothing offensive or religious unless your partner indicates she/he wouldn't mind religious themed christmas cards. Write a nice little message in your card and sign it. Maybe tell your partner what you want for christmas!

You will have 6 partners.

I will check profiles carefully, because nobody likes to get flaked on at christmas time.

You must have a 4.90 or better rating. NO recent 1's or 3's (past 6 months) No unrated swappers.

I like to be able to enjoy my cards for a little while before christmas, I usually tape them up near my christmas tree. Therefore I'm going to end this mid-november so everyone can get their cards in time to enjoy them.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Don't forget to write your user name and name of swap on a slip of paper and put it in with the card, or write it inside the card. Thanks!

Religious cards are fine with me as well.

belovedgypsygirl 10/22/2010 #

I celebrate Yule, I am not Christian.

USAFwife 10/26/2010 #

Although I'm not really 'religious', a religious themed Christmas card wouldn't offend me. But I prefer the cute animal ones that are out. :)

I'm joining in - new here. I absolutely adore Christmas & Christmas cards. I actually look for ways to send to 'strangers' each year & enjoy card swaps. I am religious & actually prefer cards that pertain to the traditional areas of Christmas. I will not send religious cards to those who do not prefer them =) Looking forward to it! @USAFwife - I am as well!!

Are store bought cards going to be OK? I have other swaps to make cards for and not enough time to make 6. Let me know.

rubyhousesliprs 11/ 1/2010 #

Store bought is what I'll be sending @maggiesmother They're just fine.

MrsAnnaSue 11/ 1/2010 #

Do not feel obligated to send extras in your cards. The purpose of the swap is to try to make it affordable for everyone to participate. If you want to incluse extras, it is up to you, please just remember this is for cards.

If anyone does not receive their cards by November 30th please contact your partner, if no response,

kraftykj 11/ 2/2010 #

I have to admit, I kind of feel like if you join a Christmas card swap, you should expect you are going to get at least one out of six cards that bear an image related to Christmas, and we all know that means, traditionally anyway, the birth of Christ. I'm open to receiving any holiday cards, Kwanza cards, yule cards, or even New Year's cards, if that is what you send out to the people in your life. I feel it is good to remember that many or even most of us buy our Christmas or holiday cards in big boxes, and they all have the same or similar images and sayings on/in them. So I wouldn't expect anyone to inconvenience him/herself with buying something outside of what they are sending to the others they have to send to. Should they have to go to the store for me just because I'm the only Christian in their life? Absolutely not! They should send out the greeting card they have and I'll just need to enjoy the variety of living in a world full of people of varying beliefs. It doesn't mean they are trying to convert me, just a holiday greeting! Just my opinion. That being said, I probably wouldn't join a Kwanza card swap, since I don't have any Kwanza cards and don't know what to send for that.

Any christmas card is fine with me as well...non religious or religious :)

I celebrate Yule - would love to have cards with cute critters on them. I collect and keep them in notebooks from year to year. So pretty to look at and a nice pick me up on occasion.
