Bookstore Scavenger Hunt

Have a fun 30-60 minutes exploring your local bookstore's fiction section, then send your partner your results along with a book surprise! This is US-only for postage reasons; if anyone is interested in an international version, let me know.

To fulfill this swap: Send one (1) partner your completed scavenger hunt list with both titles and authors (items to find are below) along with a book that you think they will like. Please check the swap comments and your partner's profile for help in choosing a book. In summary - send your scavenger hunt results and a book.

The scavenger hunt:

First, find the store's fiction section. If the store separates fiction by genre (i.e. science fiction, romance, literary, historical, etc...), then pick whichever section you prefer or your partner likes the best.

Then scavenge away to fill these categories. Please include both TITLE and AUTHOR for all the categories, some also require other details about the book.

1. RAINBOW COVERS Find a book with a cover the majority of which is each color!

1. ONE OF THESE IN THE TITLE Find a book that has something specific in the title!

A food item/something you eat The name of a city or country An animal A color A number A proper name (first or last)

1. AUTHORS LIKE US Find one book where the author has your same first name, last name, or initials.

Find another where the author has the same first name, last name, or initials as your partner.

1. FIRST AND LAST What is the very first book in this section of the bookstore and what is its first sentence?

What is the very last book in this section of the bookstore and what is its last sentence?

1. RANDOM BY SEVENS Choose seven different shelves. On each of these shelves, what is the seventh book in? Turn to page seven of the book and find the seventh word on the page. What is it?

2. COUNT UP BY TITLE Find a book with a one word title, then a book with a two word title, then three words, and so on. Get at least to a five word title. Can you get further? How high can you go?

3. MY TOP FIVE Of all the books you've just browsed, name your top five most likely to read choices.

Requirements to join: 4.95+ cumulative rating, and at least 10 completed and rated type 2 or type 3 swaps. Recent 1s and 3s must be explained in the rating comments or on your profile. No exceptions to these requirements! You must also provide information about what kind of fiction you like to read - either on your profile or in the swap comments. List specific books that are favorites or list genres you like!
