Description:

Yarn snobs need not apply.

This swap is just for the acrylic yarn everyone loves to hate, but we all have it in our stash. The Red Heart, Sayelle, Wintuk, Caron etc.

Admit it. Acrylic yarn has its uses. It's good for toys, amigurumi, freeform, dog blankets-lol...

I love natural yarns and will fork over a pretty penny on just one skein, but when it comes to buying acrylic, I can't justify spending a couple of measly dollars for a fat skein that is going to take me forever to use up.

But, acrylic yarn has come a long way from the scratchy indestructable stuff made into Grandma's granny square afghan! There are some really soft acrylics and quite a few beautiful self striping coloraways!

We will be sending to one partner 5 ounces worsted weight acrylic in 5 different colors, 1 ounce for each color(approx. 55 yards per ounce). Limits- two ball may be variegated, one ball may be vintage(clean!), and only one ball may be brown!

No color wish lists. This is to help spread out our stash, not buying to suit our partner's wants. But, feel free to look at your partners profile for color ideas.

Since postage rates have gone up significantly the past couple years since the first swap I hosted, I am saddened to say this will be U.S. only. But, if there is interest I will host a second one for international.<<<<< No no-sends within the past three months. Newbies welcome with a filled profile. I do final checks when sign-ups end.

Just to make sure, we can send 5 different color balls in any color, but the limits you mention are a guideline, not the requirement, right?

Yay! I love acrylic for the aforementioned reasons. :o) I just want to note that I also really like brown, so it would be ok if my partner wants to send more than one ball of it to me. I completely understand why that rule is there cause lots of people don't care so much for it, but it's fine with me. :o)

Woohoo! Thanks for hosting this swap!!!

Yes, the limits are guidelines. You don't have to have any or all of those. And of course, if you don't mind more browns, your partner may or may not accommodate.

You're welcome!

I`d be interested in the international one.

Yeah! I use and love wool, but I also use a lot of acrylic for small projects. Crochet towel toppers, lip balm holders, kleenex cozies, flowers are just some of the things I use it for. I've done some acrylic yarn swaps before and it's always nice to see some colors I don't already have.

Wow, an ounce is more than I imagined! Has anyone come up with a good way to package these? A sphere, while neat, does not seem ideal.

If you can get a hold of the Tyvek mailing envelopes, they are great for odd shapes. The material is nearly impossible to rip, so it can get handled more roughly than paper.

Rats. I forgot to mark sent again. I mailed my swap on the 13th, a day to spare! But it looks like I was late. Sorry.
