updated Aug 2020 I have been away from SB for quite some time. I changed jobs after DH temporarily lost his. Still married; dont know why :p Three out of my 5 kids are out of the house- one with a masters, one out of the Navy, and the other will be finishing college next year.
I work at a commercial greenhouse year-round. Planted thousands of plant plugs and helped them grow. I think I have sown over a million seeds, literally.**
Occasional artist. I love odd eclectic, out of the ordinary things, mostly natural(I find beauty in a vase of dead flowers), toads, frogs, snails, spiders, leaves, bones and skulls, mushrooms, pinecones(especially glass-blown ornament ones), feathers, shells, stars, colored glass, brass bells, wind chimes. If it is weird, I will probably like it! I love textures and earth tones in greens, browns, and blues, and all other colors in warm shades, as well as the really dark jewel tones. Although, I do find an occasional bright color catching my eye.
I like puzzles of all kind, Sudoku, crosswords, mathematical, jigsaw, even those wood/metal box/link puzzles. And kites, too! I feel the need to get a new kite or two every year.
I live in a creative dead zone and I envy those who live near all those wonderful festivals and specialty shops! My only sources: what I can scrounge up at the thrift store, the internet and of course the Big Box stores. Update- I do NOT scrapbook, but I found a really cool scrapbooking shop for my paper arts. Also, two yarn shops, which I never knew about, and if I drive over an hour to get to Hannibal, MO, I can visit the most awesome quilt shop in the midwest, Hickory Sticks!
I do get lots of spinning fiber from our 2 llamas and 1 Shetland sheep, but I like spinning and blending other fibers and materials into my yarns. I like natural fibers and find some of the novelty yarns interesting.
No Allergies :) I love dark chocolate and odd candies- like Cricket Lickits, absolutely love Kookaburra Liquorice Allsorts(but I can no longer find them- MANY THANKS to twobluecrows for renewing my quest for Allsorts! I've found a suitable substitute in RJ's Allsorts out of New Zealand), trying different teas, incense sticks, smelly candles and soaps, but I don't wear perfumes, make-up or use lotions.
I also collect postage stamps, foreign coins, geocaching sig items, pressed pennies-from pre1982 coins- zinc leaves streaks, and postcards-stamped and written.
Classic, metal and alternative rock! and some older country-hate the new stuff. The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, CCR, The Cult, Queen, Nirvana, Ozzy(the old stuff), Nickelback(again, the older stuff), Avenged Sevenfold, Chevelle, David Bowie, Tyr, Danzig, Five Finger Death Punch, Jamis Joplin, Rob Zombie
anything science-fiction, horror, most comedy and anything with Clint Eastwood or Harrison Ford.. Soylent Green, Planet of the Apes, The Fifth Element, Serenity, Tommy Boy, Grandma's Boy, 13th Warrior, Slither, Shaun of the Dead, Apocalypto, amazed by 300 -loved it! And I LMAO!! every time I watch Land of the Lost with Will Farrel! Guardians of the Galaxy...
My oldest got me hooked on Korean shows. Favorites: My Lovely Sam-Soon, The Great Seer, Kingdom, Black, A Korean Odyssey.
fiber spinning- I have two wheels and quite a few drop spindles; weaving- as in a floor loom with a reed- NOT craft loops; knitting, crochet, cloth doll making, sewing, altered books, quilting, beading- and lately, stained glass!
I will be more than happy to resend a swap if it doesn't make it the first time. Please contact me instead of just leaving a 1.
If You have not received a rating from me, it is one of several things- I simply forgot, I haven't received it yet, I am still waiting for others in a multi partner swap, I need time to compose rating poetry, or I don't have anything nice to say about a swap that hardly met requirements.

Hi! thanks for joining the fall atc! Just a reminder--tomorrow (August 22) is the last day to send the fall atc out on time. ;)
Hope you're having a fabulous Mother's day!
Bren, I was reading your profile as I'm your swap partner for the Senders Choice ATC. I have found another person who loves Kookaburra licorice!!! Hurray! I don't have much luck finding it around here but my DIL and son sent me two packs of it for Christmas. hallelujah!!!!
I'm thinking you are very lucky with your llamas, etc. as I'd buy a drop spindle in a second if I had animals. It's pretty hard to justify with all my other expensive hobbies!!!
Just wanted to say Hello!
Hope it is SEW special
Thank you for the 8 little balls of sock yarn received today! Happy New Year
Thanks & hugs for the wonderful wooden spools:) Happy NY!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much- the stickers are so beautiful! My daughter spent the last half of the day wandering around with fish all over her forehead- so cute! (Granting Wishes Group)
I like UHU glue sticks too and find them on Joann's on line. They often have promo codes that are posted on various sites. I saw your post in the PFs.
Hi Bren. I am glad you received your tag with the cards, some tarot. I am sorry the envie was damaged. At least they taped it up. I only included the cards and didn't put any small doo dads in the envie. I hope this means that nothing was lost. We may never know. I am just glad that you got 98% of what I sent. And that you enjoyed everthing.
Wowza! You totally rock:) Thank you so much for all of the wonderful wishes you sent to me from the Granting Wishes Group. I luv every single item and can't believe how generous you are!! You are what swap-bot is truly about...just wish I could give you hearts for granting my wishes!! {hugs}
