Scarflet Challenge (U.S. only)

I love soft yarns -- the softer the better! The colors I wear the most are teal and purple, though I like most bright colors. Having said that, I don't where a lot of red or orange.

I like looser scarves. I don't like chokers or turtlenecks. I have a larger neck than most at 20 in. Please give me a little more room to move in. ;-) Of the examples above, I like the keyhole or button styles, but you can also surprise me.

I love beads, buttons, and stones. It would be great if the scarflet closed with something decorative...but it doesn't have to.

I love interesting fibers and I'll leave the color choice up to you. Earth tones, bright colors, but no yellow please (it's my favorite color, but not in yarn!). I liked the button example, something plain, but with good stitch detail and please, no fun fur!!!! I don't like strings hanging down, either. I can't wait to see what you make!

I love the ones that close with a tie, but any will be fine. I like jewel tones, blues, purples, pinks even. I do not wear very many bright colors, and I wear jeans mostly all the time. (I have two babies so anything I can just throw on easily gets worn the most) I live in Maine, and I am spleeny when I am cold so the warmer the yarn the better. I am not a yarn snob, but I would rather this be made with a thick, warm yarn (not eyelash) please. Message me if you have any questions! Courtney

I love the button one but a bit longer for my ample neck and 'vast tracts of land'. I love the combination red and black, or black and golden yellow, or just earthy dirt tones.

I'm not really into ruffles, bows or glitter, something simple will do me just fine.

I love softer, earthier colors like, rusty or deep cranberry reds, chocolate browns, tans, beiges, rose, greens. I like either solids or variegated.

I prefer wool, Alpaca, silk, cotton/wool blends, but no Acrylic, please.

I don't wear a lot of yellow or orange, or bright colors (you, know, the ones visible from space)

My favorite brands are: Koigu, Artyarns, Lorna's Laces, KnitPicks, Regia, Opal, Cascade 220, but I am absolutely open to other yarns. This is just to give you a flavor for my preferences. (Just please, no fun fur or wild novelties) My style is very simple and understated classics)

As for scarflette styles, I like them all, so feel free to surprise me.

I love the color GREEN! I'd prefer loose, soft and light. Nothing too heavy or tight, as it's pretty warm here in AZ. Something pretty and green!

I prefer natural fibers. I'm open to most colors but am not a huge fan of yellow or orange or pastels (at least not up by my face!). Can't wait!

I am so glad that I saw this swap in time to sign up for it. What a wonderful small but great yarn project!

I am probably going to be easy to please as far as what I like. The softer the better, of course, since it'll be against my skin, but it can be most any type of yarn you choose, even fun fur or eyelash. It doesn't necessarily have to be warm (our Winters aren't TOO cold). A light and airy scarflet can work for me.

The colors that look best on me are chocolate brown, cherry red, pastel/bubblegum pink, lavender, royal blue, olive green, burgandy...I guess mostly warm colors, though some cool ones like the pink, lavender, and royal blue colors.

I am a "Lady-in-Waiting" (waiting to be 50, that is) in the Red Hat Society so I wear pink and lavender colors to our gatherings. I'd love a little scarflet to wear for that. It could be dressy, gaudy, or plain. ANYTHING would work for that as long as it's pink or lavender or both!

I also enjoy the patterns linked above, especially the flower (my favorite!), keyhole, and button examples. But I'm sure I'll love anything that is made with love. :) So have fun making a scarflet, my partner! I'm sure I'll love it!

I'm so used to doing surprise swaps, I completely forgot to post letting my partner know what I would like! I wear scarves with sweaters and sweatshirts as well as coats so I'm not too picky about what it looks like. But warm is a must! Here in Wisconsin, winters get COLD! My favorite sweater is light green, my coat is dark blue with green, my dress coat is black, and my sweatshirts are mostly gray. So anything to coordinate with one or more of those would be great. I've never had much luck with eyelash yarn scaves being warm, so please don't make it completely out of eyelash yarn. Then again, maybe you can change my mind!!

Okay if this is too specific, then just ignore it. But I have fingerless mittens in Baby Alpaca Grande in the green(679) and I would love a scarflet to go with them. It just seems to make sense: a scarflet (mini-scarf) for fingerless mittens (mini-mittens).

I would like a button scarflet. I think I'd like a scarflet in grey, please! Or maybe lavendar? I'm not particularly fond of the fun furs either. Otherwise, I'm easy to please. I do love bamboo yarn, though!

I'm having fun working on my scarflet. I'm making the button scarflet, though not with the Knitting Loom thingy the pattern is written for. Just knitting it free-style. Looks like a pretty basic pattern, don't ya'll think? As I have been working on it, I was thinking that the buttons are going to take more thought than actually knitting the scarflet...I can't decide what buttons I will put on this...sparkly or common? Big or small? What color? How many? ha ha...I have some time to still dwell on that while the scarflet emerges.

Thanks for posting about your scarflet, Karla. I'm having fun with mine. It's small enough that I can bring it with me to work and knit on the train. I love it!

Buttons....I've been searching for buttons lately wanting to have some fun ones for knitting projects. I really want to find a place that sells plain, wooden buttons about 1 in. in diameter. Then I can paint them to match any project!
