Description:

Hi Ya'll! I made officer today thanks to our head Crafty Recycler so to celebrate I'm offering a really fun and creative recycling craft!

This is International and 5.00 rated swappers!

Here we go-

You will have one (1) swap partner and you will make one (1) handmade nice card out of a corrugated box or cardboard material.

Material: Take an old box and cut off a piece of it. Usually the top flaps are easy to cut off. Now peal back the first thin layer of paper to expose the ridges or ribs of the box, hence the corrugated part of the box.

Card: Make your card out of new card stock paper, but use elements of your corrugated material to add either some background or be creative and cut out shapes to add embellishments. Your card can be any size, but no smaller than a postcard and keep in mind this is international. Be creative and have fun with it!

Any questions? Post below in the discussion or email me.

I'll post in the forum for a call of angels if we have any flakers.
Let's get to upcycling and crafting!

Thanks for hosting this. I seriously love that card in the example photo. :)

Are we supposed to use the card (write a note in it, whatever), or send it to the partner for them to use? And if the latter, should we also send an envelope?

@camelsamba - good question and so sorry I did not specify in the details. Let's assume swappers may have already wrote in their card and make this as a card that you will actually write a note to your swap partner in and mail. No blanks. Hope that clarifies!

Do you have to use the cardboard from a box? Where I work, we get a lot of scrapes of corrugated cardboard, and I'd like to use that. Also, can I make the entire card from it or do I have to use cardstock as a base?

@sillyhoffmann -

Good questions. Sure, you can use any corrugated cardboard that you have access too-as long as it actually has the ribs/ridges. As far as the base of you card, I did specify that swappers use cardstock - but your are welcome to send a message to your swap partner, once they are assigned and ask if they don't mind a little creative deviation from the stated requirements. As long as they are okay with it, that is fine by me.
