Beginners Mod Podge Hodge Podge Swap

The purpose of this swap is to experiment with this medium and most of all have fun. Mod Podge is perfect for using vintage papers, magazine clippings, ribbon and other embellishments you have on hand.

Question: I can make an ATC and it counts as one and I have to use my Mod Podge on the ATC, correct? Or 3 Inchies as long as I use Mod Podge on it? Since I don't have a sponge brush-I could possibly use a sponge eye shadow applicator-it would be of smaller size???

You are correct, @DixieDiane - ATCs and Inchies are a good way to experiment. Mod Podge is an adhesive and/or sealer. So, you can use it to glue the front and back pieces together with any brush. The brush washes out with water. If you are going to seal the whole front with Mod Podge, and don't have a foam brush, I think a medium size paint brush would do better than the eye shadow applicator. It is small and would probably make lines. To glue little pieces with Mod Podge, try a Q-tip. Mod Podge may "not" even be visible on your craft, but you will write a note of how you used it. I have never tried anything with the Mod Podge stuff...am I understanding that if we just want to experiment for a first time attempt that it will be acceptable to our partners???? I would love to try but hate to experiment for a swap unless I can count on constructive criticism and or advice to improve (teaching and instruction) vs. meanness or bad ratings :( I'll put this in my watch to see what the reply is before I join... @clutterfree This swap "is" for beginners. I do not anticipate any mean spirited swappers. A 5 rating is required if we receive 3 different items using Mod Podge and a note explaining how the Mod Podge was used. I will be giving a heart for bravery : )

Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder :) No worries here about beginners swaps here...I'm new with Mod Podge myself. I think I will give it a try-If I don't like it-I just won't do it again. Doesn't hurt to give it a try. I'm going to experiment-gonna see if I can find a small sponge brush in town today-I'm excited to try something new-Like I really need to (Rolling eyes up) LOL No bad ratings here from me-I've never given a bad one before. Looking forwards to seeing my partners creations :)

I'm going to give it a go...I finished my first ever tags last eve, for the tag swap and I must say I don't want to give them away they turned out so nicely!!! I would never have tried such a thing without you all be so gracious and willing to answer my questions. Look out world a wannabe crafter is on the loose :) !!!!!

Okay, I am really going to sound 'new' or dumb on here. What does ATC stand for? I see quite a bit of Swap Terms and trying to remember what they stand for. Thanks!

@OnyxsMom There are "no" dumb questions. We are all learning new terms. ATC stands for Artist Trading Card. You cut pieces of paper size 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 for a background to decorate. It is best to back it with something like cardboard from a cereal box or firm card stock. You sign and date the back of the ATC. Hope this helps. I tried to change the picture above, but it didn't work. So, here is the link to one of my ATCs where I used Mod Podge to adhere real tomato and peach blossoms.
